  1. I know a family that is gluten-free for their kid who has autism. Some people are gluten-free because it helps with other AI diseases or other conditions they have besides celiac. If they can enjoy this pizza and not suffer any issues from it, more power to them. Especially the kids, because being a kid is already rough and being different makes it so much...
  2. I used to be a huge Papa Murphy's fan. I still get texts from them so my husband can get their pizzas, which he cooks in his mother's kitchen. (That crap ain't going in my oven.) Last week I got a text for bogo pizza and we went in and our pizzas had a flyer on them for the Udi's crusts. Every store makes their regular crusts fresh, in-store every day. They...
  3. I'm all about the bread-like-objects. We should start calling them BLOs. I'd never considered something like this but if I could manage this successfully I could get a vegetable into my husband without him knowing. It's brilliant!
  4. The recipe for dinner rolls in the ATK book is easy and they are absolutely mouthwatering. I can not recommend enough getting that book, it isn't the only recipe in it that you'll be glad you have.
  5. Having oatmeal for breakfast for two weeks may not sound like a blast, but you don't have to just have oatmeal. You can add things too. Have something with it like fruit or yogurt. Remember, while experiencing the local cuisine can be one of the fun things about traveling that isn't always the case for us and you're going to spend time with family. Pack what...
  6. I've seen nacho cheese sauce with wheat in it. It's not cheese, it's some sort of freakish thing that isn't even food anymore (but is still yummy!) so who knows what sort of freakish things is in it. The rule is: unless you know exactly what is in something, it doesn't belong in your mouth. A simple "is it gluten free?" and "yes" is never good enough for...
  7. I'd like to take this opportunity to point out that however heavy that burden is, there are plenty of us here who would willingly shoulder it.
  8. Could be celiac. I was born without one of those too. Makes life interesting for sure! I would do whatever is necessary to get the note though. I'm passive aggressive, I'd point out to her that I have a medical need and could get the note but I'd hate to have to escalate this and make it into an ADA thing. You can tell her that you'll be happy to only...
  9. I'd like to point out that you are going to get this from nearly every drug manufacturer. Few (if any) test their final product for gluten or other food based allergy ingredients. The ones who will say something is gluten free generally do so by knowing exactly what is going into it. CC in a factory that makes drugs is far more unlikely than anywhere else...
  10. I would say that it comes down to whether or not it is legal in your state. I can tell you that if you have issues with anxiety, using a drug that is illegal certainly will only add to that. On the other hand, if it is legal there, I see no reason not to try it. For medical reasons not related to anxiety, I can tell you I will be the first person in line...
  11. I'm feeling slightly better. I'm managing to get out of bed a little at least, but I think I'm sticking to soup still for the day. Unfortunately this means making myself semi-presentable and dragging myself to the store or waiting til my husband comes home tonight to go for me but I'd rather just get my own. I've just been buying soup because I guess I'm...
  12. This is usually how I end up at one of the places I go. Because they're "so far away" (first world problems) I rarely go. It's just so expensive already to eat at a place that is dedicated gluten free that the added expense of traveling to such a place makes it something that just doesn't really interest me in the day to day. Now, the safety net I get of...
  13. We're 99% gluten free in the house. I do allow my husband, who is understanding enough of what it takes to keep me safe, to have ready to eat foods that don't have to be brought into my kitchen. (I won't tell him no to the occasional bakery donut, and he keeps a box or two of cereal that isn't safe for me in the pantry.) Nothing with gluten ever comes into...
  14. It is not uncommon for someone recently diagnosed and/or new to being gluten free to discover "new" intolerances as they begin to heal. This is because other things aren't bothering you because you've removed them from your diet and you can now tell when something bothers them rather than it being masked by the overall bleh feelings. You should consider the...
  15. My very generous husband shared his bug with me. Supper got cancelled last night and again tonight. I've been eating soup when I can manage to eat anything and told him he's on his own. Hopefully by Friday night I'll get my orange chicken. That's my plan anyway. Until then it's soup, soup and more soup.
  16. I've been to Outback a few times over the last couple years and never had a problem. Of course, every location has the potential to be very different but hopefully you'll have a good experience. I think tonight I'm going to finally get to that orange sauce I picked up last week at the Asian market. I'll make orange chicken tonight. Yay!!! There really...
  17. I didn't like Seinfeld. I have seen lots of it though and he was always awesome. The last episode was epic. "Alright." Bahahahaha!
  18. Arlene... HEY ARLENE!!!!!! I did my video editing today finally. Here ya go! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CLU3Tehxm5w&feature=youtu.be BTW, if I didn't say it already, he hugged me.

    ARCHIVED Pizza

I lied to myself about pizza like that once upon a time. I don't bother anymore, I know it'll be gone in 24-48 hours no matter the size.

    ARCHIVED Pizza

That is AWESOME! I'll do a little happy dance for you too.
  21. I had Honey Nut Chex for breakfast too! I just had it in a bowl with milk though, not nearly as exciting as yours. Then again I don't need to fatten up. As a matter of fact, I'd be happy to make a donation.
  22. People have been talking about how they want the summer Olympics here. I see some of those slideshows of the abandoned, awful places after the Olympics are over and how everything falls apart and nothing ever gets used again. That just didn't happen here so people are pretty eager to do the summer thing. Even though I wasn't here when Utah hosted the winter...
  23. We do Comic Con in September and FanX in April. If you ever wanna come you can stay with me, it's just an hour train ride up into the city. Stan Lee said we have the best con in the world. (I didn't stand in the line for his panel. Screw that!)
  24. He says that he doesn't even really pay enough attention to know the storyline and his kids have to explain it to him when it airs. So no, sadly no news on it. Although... he wouldn't actually confirm rumors of a reboot of The Tick but he strongly hinted at it!!! :D That should have been the highlight of my weekend, it really should have been, to do that...
  25. I had to run to the store to pick up some cold medicine and OJ for my husband. I grabbed some fish and a bagged salad for myself while I was there for an easy dinner tonight. I'm probably not going to do anything today, just sit and relax and recuperate. Then it's back to working tomorrow, lots to sew to make up for what I sold last week.
