  1. Solgar makes gluten-free, dairy-free probiotics. I take the Advanced Multi-Billion Dophilus Vegetable Capsules.
  2. Because the Night - Patti Smith
  3. Amen to that. I am in your same situation, Songbird. I cannot even have rice, and don't know for how long I will have to be grain-free and legume-free (I don't seem to have issues with dairy). My doctor originally thought three months would be enough, but now it looks more like nine months, and then we'll see. In my case, even smaller quantities of these...
  4. You're welcome, GFinDC. Pegleg, I think that's because most people tend to eat a terrible diet, which messes up with their GI system, which in many cases may be bettered by probiotics, and it's easier to buy "health food" than making your food healthy, so there's a big, salivating market out there. I recently had a horrible experience with soy AND...
  5. Oh, I have been all over the place yesterday, left early in the morning for a ballet class, went studying in the park, then to a lecture, then on the other side of the city for a meeting, and then on the other side again for dinner, and then 40 minutes back home. I think I was out for something like 15 hours. I just washed and folded three huge bags of...
  6. Thank heaven, I though I was the only one on these boards! I can't drop TV references, but I can drop music references, and my students started using the phrase "walking in [someone's] shoes" in our seminar when we talk about empathy. *swoon* You saw Waters in The Wall?!?!? That is like 50 shades of awesome! Where did you go to college? I think...
  7. GFinDC - that's the result of being brought up by a mother that would freak out about the temperature to which our probiotics would be exposed in long railway trips... The lemon-ginger stuff by Stash was responsible for my near-heart attack, so this is interesting. I did my research, and it appears that the GanedenBC30 is a trademark for a type...
  8. Aren't they usually sensitive to high temperatures? I mean, it's not Kombucha, I guess, so are you going to pour hot water on probiotics?
  9. Hey Ya - OutKast
  10. I've recently turned 30. Given than in my home country that's the highest grade you can get in college, I just say I've reached near perfection. From next year on, I'll just say 30 cum laude People usually think I am 22 or so, though. And I personally feel like I'm still that age.
  11. I am sorry you feel so miserable; but glad the pain left your powers of description unscathed. I think it was not the exercise, but the temperature. Cold, even if you were well-wrapped, is never good for cramps. I am one of the lucky folks for whom the "exercise prescription" worked: I'd do a round of crunches and leg lifts and I'd be as good as new...
  12. Getting Jiggy With It - Will Smith
  13. Celestial Seasonings also has soy. I had your exact same reaction with Stash.
  14. Can we have this thread, please? I loathed jeans as a child. By which I mean I would scream at my mum: "I will never, ever wear these! I can't move in them!" - and she was like, "I'll remember this when 14 comes along." I did wear jeans for many years, but it was always a pain in the neck to find one that fit. I could only wear jeans by a brand I don...
  15. You sexy thing - Hot Chocolate
  16. Loverman - Nick Cave
  17. Totally was: that's how you raise kids if you want them in grad school LOL! I am very excited about this.
  18. <------------ THIS. Meaning my avatar. I was brought up listening to Depeche Mode: pretty somber for a toddler, but hey, my brothers also read Poe and Lovecraft to me, so I guess that fits the picture. Synthesizers were my favourite toys when I was four or five (we had some around the house).
  19. 'shroom, I LOL'd... I always visit home (Italy) in the Summer, so it's really just a question of driving across the country. I got fed up of waiting for the announcement of the American leg of the tour, and worried there wouldn't be a NYC date in the Fall - which would have meant no date for me, since I have to teach in the fall - so...
  20. I can haz ticketz fur mi favorite band in Rome!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :D :D :D :D
  21. NICE!!!! Thank you! That's what I wanted to hear.
  22. Hi all, as I have said several times, I have had to switch to a grain-free diet because I am currently still reacting to uncontaminated plain rice, so... I have been using coconut flour in baking (almond flour is out because almonds make me lethargic, and I can't fall asleep at the blackboard), first the Let's Do Organic, and then the Bob's Red Mill one...
  23. Black Celebration - Depeche Mode. (also title of my favourite album in preschool years )
  24. I am afraind that nuts are out, too. :(

  25. Hannan, I am currently in that same stage and cannot even have simple, nonGMO, organic, "naturally gluten free" grains, like rice. I must be the only person with what seems to be NCGS to react to plain rice. If it can be of any comfort, I have been grain-free and soy-free (as well as legume-free) for about 2 months now, and it gets better. I am not sure...
