I was wondering about possible contamination in spices and spice mixes I use so sent off email to SpiceHunter and Spice Islands (Tone Brothers). So far after a week SpiceHunter is the only one to respond.

"Our spices and spice blends are gluten free. However, we carry other

products that contain gluten. These products are made using common

processing equipment, which is cleaned thoroughly between uses. They are

processed in the same facility with our gluten free spices."

So there is a possibility of cross-contamination on these if you are highly sensitive.

In my case I think what problems I have had are due to the specific spices causing my system to react. I can't do Mexican spices any more - something in there (maybe the chili?) makes my system very unhappy.

Thought I should share the info. :)
