This sounds great for all you cooks out there...

Pamela's Products announces their first ever Delicious Gluten-Free Recipe Contest. Competition is open to US residents 18 or over with an original gluten-free recipe that uses a Pamela's Products brand product. The contest runs from June 15th through August 15th, 2006. Three lucky and talented winners will each receive a beautiful new Stand Mixer or a gift certificate for up to $200 at a kitchen supply store. All qualified entrants will also receive a free gift from Pamela's Products.

Pamela's Products has defined three delectable categories for competition. The "Decadent Dessert" category is for anyone who loves to create new and innovative, rich, decadent desserts and treats. For those with a more traditional desire the "Traditional Sweet" category will explore our all time favorite sweet treats from childhood. Since we cannot live on sweets alone, the "Something Savory" category is perfect for those who want to explore varied savory delicacies.

"We are very excited to host this contest. There are a tremendous amount of people getting creative and innovative. I am inspired by the amount of delicious gluten-free foods that are out there, especially what we are seeing from the home cook. We wanted to acknowledge this amazing achievement by hosting a fun competition that would celebrate this creativity and excitement for gluten-free foods," commented Pamela Giusto-Sorrells, President and Founder of Pamela's Products.

Pamela's Products has been producing gluten-free foods for more than 18 years, with products including cookies, baking mixes and biscotti. "When I started this company, it was challenging for the home cook to create delicious foods that they wanted to eat, let alone anyone dining with them. Now I receive letters daily from excited consumers telling me how fun it is for them to share their gluten-free foods with their friends because it tastes so good. It doesn't matter anymore that it's gluten-free, it just tastes great. That is really exciting. I have always felt that food should be enjoyed," continued Giusto-Sorrells.

To enter your special recipe simply go to the Pamela's Products website at www.pamelasproducts.com between June 15th and Auguast 15th, 2006, for the contest entry form and rules. All recipes must be gluten-free and original to the entrant.

Available from Pamela's Products are a complete line of gluten-free baking mixes, traditional cookies, organic cookies, and biscotti. Pamela’s Products can be found in natural food and grocery stores throughout North America and on the web at www.pamelasproducts.com. Setting the standard for great taste since 1988, Pamela’s Products continues to create the most delicious wheat-free and gluten-free foods.

probably not your situation @Mimiof2, but allow me to add one more to @trents list of celiac-mimics: "olmesartan-induced sprue-like enteropathy"

My dad had an Abdominal Aortic Aneurysm.  Fortunately, it was discovered during an exam.  The doctor could feel my dad's heart beating in his stomach.  The aneurysm burst when the doctor first touched it in surgery.  Since he was already hooked up to the bypass machine, my dad survived ten more years.  Close call! Triple A's can press on the nerves in the spinal cord causing leg pain.  I'm wondering if bowing the head might have increased the pressure on an aneurysm and then the nerves.   https://gulfcoastsurgeons.com/understanding-abdominal-aortic-aneurysm-symptoms-and-causes/ Abdominal Aortic Aneurysm Presenting as a Claudication https://pmc.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/articles/PMC4040638/

You have an odd story there. To me, the mechanical trigger suggests a mechanical problem and lower leg pain is a classic sciatica symptom. The fact that the clear mechanical linkage is no longer there does not take away from the fact that it was - maybe something shifted and the simple alignment is no longer there. There's also a good chance I am wrong and it's something else entirely. @Scott Adams's mention of shingles is interesting. It seems possible but unlikely to me, but who knows. However, I am writing here to reinforce the idea of getting the shingles vaccine. Ask anyone who has ever had shingles and they will bend your ear telling you how bad it is. I watched my wife go through it and it scared the bejeebers out of me. Even if you had the chicken pox vaccine, you really want to get the shingles vaccine.

Oddly this effect has gone now, just happened yesterday evening, the nerve pain is now back to its usual "unpredictable" random self again - but that was the only time I ever had some mechanical trigger for it, don't know why! There's no (or wasn't) actual pain in my neck - it was inside the leg, but when I looked down, now though, the leg pain just comes and goes randomly as before again.

I had MRI scan a few years ago showing everything normal, and now it's no longer triggering the nerve pain when I bow my head today - it only seemed to happen yesterday, and that was the only time it happened! Just seemed weird as no movement has caused my usual nerve pain before. It's normally just random.
