Replacing An Ingredient

Recommended Posts

Hi - I want to make a normal recipe tonight that calls for Heinz 57 sauce. Their website says it isn't gluten-free. Would anyone on here have suggestions for what I could use in place of the 57 sauce?

Thank you again!

I use Annie's brand ketchup which is gluten-free and very good. Ketchup is basically tomato paste with some vinegar and onions (?), garlic (?), seasonings (?) or something along those lines. Maybe just whip up a small batch and use that.

DD: gluten-free/casein-free, soy lite, corn lite

There are a lot of copycat recipes of different things on the internet. If you put something like this in for a websearch (including the quotes and pluses) you'll get a pretty specific result.

+"heinz 57" +recipe

Then just look in the results for words like copycat or homemade and you should be able to find a couple options. Here's one I found. I'm not sure if Wishbone italian dressing is gluten-free or not though.
