What Else Should I Get Tested For?

Recommended Posts

Hello all. I am newly celiac disease, and I was wondering what else I should get tested for. I don't really care for my current Gastro Dr. and am planning on switching docs, but there aren't any available slots until March, but I'm sure there are things my pcp can handle. Any thoughts would be appreciated.

It would help to know a few more details. Are you talking about being tested for other allergies or something else? How long have you been gluten-free? Do you continue to have GI probs, if so what?

Well, you don't really need to test for anything else as long as you get better on this diet. If not, check the related disorders and research section--I don't remember most of them...there is lupus, thyroid problems (hypo or hyper), anemia, other nutritional deficiencies, allergies, intolerances (casein, dairy, soy, to name a few common ones), etc. The list goes on and on, but I think you just need to worry about those if you still feel bad on the diet. Then you should get tested for allegies and intolerances and read up on the other complications I mentioned, look up some in that section of the board, and see which ones conincide with your symptoms or problems.

Well, I've only been gluten free for less than a month. But I'm having new problems. I've been getting dizzy . . . like a feeling like I'm overly medicated (even though I'm not on anything). I kind of feel blurred vision or like I'm out of my body and things are going around me so slowly . . . like I can't concentrate or remember things. This cannot be normal.
