Food Intolerances - Damage

Recommended Posts

Just wondering if foods which you are intolerant to can cause the same damage as gluten to your villi/small intestine.

I.e. say you went gluten-free for 6 months but at times had food which you reacted to. Would this damage your villi in the same way as gluten? Or would it just be symptoms that you had to worry about?

Just symptoms, the way I understand it. For us celiacs, there is damage to the intestine due to the autoimmune reaction. If you have a gluten intolerance you just have to worry about the nasty symptoms.
