Extreme Backache And Fatigue

Rate this topic

Recommended Posts

Does anyone have extreme lower backache and fatigue? My results are prob a week off, but the pain and fatigue are just horrendous. I'm going to talk to a dr this morning about it. My joints are still cracking and I'm just not sure if its coeliac related anymore. Its getting worse. I'm 31 and feel like an old woman :(

Got an app for Monday afternoon. Dr said it could be coeliac but test isnt back yet (I knew it wouldn't be). Don't know what they can do until it gets back but hubby wants me to see someone as its all so bad. Don't want to live on painkillers as its not good for your body so just trying to get through it.

When I was still on gluten to say everything hurt would be an understatement. So yes your back pain and the fatigue could well be gluten related. You said your test results will be back on Monday. Are there other celiac related tests that you will be having? If you have had the endo (or are not going to have one) and blood tests done then you don't need to wait on the results to start the diet. You will need to do a dietary trial no matter what the test results are because of rather high levels of false negatives in testing so if testing is complete you can go ahead and start your trial.

I had a lot of fatigue before gluten-free. By noon I was falling asleep and couldn't focus on work or do much of anything until after nap or later in the day. By 8-9:00 p.m., again, falling asleep. Woke up still tired in the mornings, generally feeling run-down. I also was developing some lovely under-eye bags. That has stopped and the eye-bags are slowly improving! It is great. I make it through the day with no drowsiness / sleepiness, and regularly find myself wide awake at night and able to do things after the kids go to bed.

As for the backache - yes that could be related!

Another thing that has helped me a lot is to take vitamins regularly, especially Vitamin D3.

I hope you get some answers soon that will help you figure it out.

I'll be seeing a dr about the fatigue and backache but part of me is wondering whether to wait for results. Don't think they'll be back til next Fri as in UK it takes 2 weeks for some reason. Its a week today I had them done. If the blood test is positive then thats good enough for me. Only thing is, I may not get food on perscription, which I'd get for free as I get all meds free as I have an underactive thryoid.
