Regular Care...

Recommended Posts

Hi guys,

I was biopsy-diagnosed with celiac about 7 years ago and just go to my regular doc once a year and the gastro every 2 years.

What kind of follow-up care do you do regularly? ARe you all at your docs every 6 months? Generally, I feel very well and follow my gluten-free diet religiously. After I was diagnosed they did a ton of bloodwork and just generally keep an eye on things like my Complete blood counts, vitamin d levels, etc.

Thanks.

I really am not sure what need there is for more care than you mentioned. There is nothing they can do for celiac. Often a specialist will refer you back to your primary care with instructions for any regular tests they want and ask you to come back should things change. The 1and 2 year visits make perfect sense to me.

I go when I have an issue and get yearly blood work done. My iron & vit levels are low but other than that there isn't much to be done
