    Could you share your chicken potato soup recipe? I hate the rice noodles, but loved chicken soup. With potatoes, I think it would be a good soup for me.

    Went to the GI that first DXed me yesterday. I didn't stick with her because she didn't seem too knowledgeable. Saw another GI here in town..who referred me to Mayo Clinc... She looked at my file and noted that it says I appear to have a severe case of bacterial overgrowth. She looked up at me and said.."How do you think it got in there"? I asked...

    I'm so glad you've gotten some resolution. At the first of the year we changed insurance and they make us get our RXs through their mail order business. We had to get new RXs written rather than transfer the ones we had in place, so I had to scramble to get those and get the meds in hand for my hubby who travels for his job. One of them didn't come...

    Absolutly shocking! I'd demand to get the medical records. If doc 1 doesn't turn them over..report him. I'd also be looking to turn CVS in for not allowing an RX to be transferred. They might not want to fill it..but surely they can't refuse to transfer to another pharmacy? One more reason to get copies of all medical tests, etc.

    I had a bad reaction to cookies made with a flour blend that contained sorghum. I thought maybe the sorghum had cc? The other flours in the blend were ones I had eaten without a problem many times. I still wonder if I can't tolerate sorghum..or if it was cc?

    Shocking! Is there a different Dr. you can see? If it were me...I wouldn't want to see this clueless Dr. for anything!

    I have to say..my exerience with Dr.s has not been good. They don't listen and insist on putting people on anti-depressants, no matter what their ailment is. When I kept complaining about my many various symptoms from unDXed Celiac..they kept offering me more med to numb me down! It really is like they get a kick back for some of those meds?

    Some of us have a hard time digesting the alternative flours too, at first. Are you taking a digestive enzyme with your meals? They may help as your digestive system is healing.

    wow. That's pretty close to how I was told about my DX..except the Dr. was nice. She said "you have Celiac. Don't eat gluten. Look it up online." These Dr.s are announcing we have a disease that will change our lives forever and this is the way they deliver that news? I'm glad we both found this site!

    Typical. False positives aren't very likely with blood work. The endoscope is mainly to confirm..and assess the level of villi damage. Maybe she meant the REscope wasn't usually needed after starting the diet and redoing the blood tests show that the Celiac levels have gone down(are negative)? I'm trying to give her the benefit of doubt here...

    Errr..what if you had chest hair..but shaved it..or plucked the hairs? LOL It's kind of ridiculous when a Dr. makes up their mind about a DX then tries to manipulate the facts to fit their theory!

    Your daughter's story breaks my heart. I don't understand why they didn't look for a reason why she wasn't growing. Isn't that their job...the reason why we take our babies to the Dr.s? Not doing tests because of insurance when a child is bleeding internally is insane!

    They still aren't teaching much about Celiac in med school. I was going to a clinic where we were seen by Residents..fresh out of school. I was told I couldn't have Celiac...because I'm too old! A second Resident I saw said the same thing. They felt the DX was wrong.

    They made a DX and never told you? That's inexcusable! I wanted to change PCP so I picked up my medical records (which they charged me for). I was shocked at how reports of my visits were described. Quite a work of fiction! I called the GI's office that did my scope and blood tests in Dec. I was told my blood work shows I don't have Celiac. What...

    I hear you on the Dr. shopping! I've been to 6 different ones since my DX in late June. Two of them were Residents who said I was "too old" to have Celiac. Two GI's locally, and one at Mayo. I went to a PCP that someone from the GI's office said was good, but when I went to him I found out he's 93, and told me Celiac was a very rare condition. Currently...

    Shocking! A Dr. that doesn't order blood tests she doesn't know how to read...AND her own Daughter had it? I wonder what else slips through the cracks with this Dr.? It sounds like the Dr. that ordered the test considered the variables and that's why they didn't contact you and tell you about it? I hope that was the case..and not just laziness? ...

    I started getting these same issues around the time I was DXed. It's scary..and very hard to describe to someone. They cleared up in a couple of weeks, once gluten-free.     After my DX of Cliac with severe villi flattening my insomnia and anxiety started to increase..rapidly.
