    Sadly my problem is my own mother who absolutely refuses to believe some gluten is not okay. Every single holiday involving a meal turns into a fight that leaves me crying, frustrated, angry with myself and the disease and alone. I've tried to get around the fighting by inviting my mom and step dad to my place for dinner but she says no......step dad wants...

    Yes, I had this rash checked out once a very long time ago. I was in my early 20's and walked out of his office humiliated beyond belief. He told me and tested me for the STD Herpes. I was so horrified. I spent 2 weeks sobbing and too humiliated to even go out before the result came back as negative. I've never had it checked since. My rash is faithfully...

    Im not sure if I've used spray starch in the room and never even thought to check if it contains anything gluten. I'm normally so diligent in everything I buy and yet this product is something I've used for years and years and never once thought about what it's made of. Silly me. I've learned a valuable lesson.....never again will gluten enter my home...

    I think my daughter has Celiac disease as well but she refuses to get tested. It's good to know Celiacs and non can live together in harmony. I'm still looking for any helpful hints regarding cleaning my computer desk and sewing table, all made primarily of wood. I'll try anything.     Good morning Msmarginalized. First of all, thank you so much for the hugs. My attempt at cleaning this room a couple of days ago has yielded nothing but a rash and tummy troubles. I'm afraid if I go visit them, I'd have even less control over the gluten issue plus it's a 10 hour drive and my hip replacement has decided to crap out yet again so I'm waiting...

Her and I were chatting and I told her the rest of my house while work intensive, was easy to de-gluten so why am I having such issues with this one room. What's different about it?     I was stunned my daughter brought all of this gluten to my house.     I've been waiting to get into a GI guy for almost 7 months now and still no sign of getting in to see this guy. Fortunately he's new to me. The one that diagnosed me was nuts or something. He didn't give me near enough sedation when he scoped me (top and bottom) and was so very rough. This new guy is supposed to be up to date on all of the newest issues...

    H'mmm....I clicked on the link you supplied and this is where it took me. I have a feeling this isn't right. Can you let me know please? If it's not, I'll try out the other method you suggested. During all of this, I've tried to create a profile and the site froze up on me. lol Like I said earlier, I'm not exactly computer literate.

    Hi. I read the same thing and yet everytime i come in contact with gluten despite washing my hands, i first get the rash then the nausea, abdominal cramps and bloating.  The last couple of times this has happened has gotten me to thinking there's something else going on.  However, that said, the rash that i get is the same rash ive had for years before my diagnosis and appears only when Ive been exposed. Got any ideas?

      Yes, just go to that thread, scroll down to the reply box and then after you've posted, hit submit - just like you did for your first post.

      While you're there, give us a bit of info about yourself, such as if and how you were diagnosed. Was it through blood testing, endoscopy, or biopsy of the rash? Or perhaps you are like many of us who are self-diagnosed. (There's nothing wrong with that. A lot of doctors are clueless about celiac and many of us never got an official diagnosis.)

      I havent gone anywhere. Still trying to find the original post I replied to while switching from my |Tablet to my Notebook.  Also, I checked out the DH pics and compared those to what I get and it's indeed DH on my butt.  So not nice.

      Just click on the link and it'll take you there. Then scroll down to the reply box.

      They redid this site a week or so ago and it's harder to navigate now. What I do is click on the "all activity" button in the top left hand corner and it'll show any posts made anywhere on the site starting from the latest made. As you scroll down you will see older posts. A lot of the really old threads are no longer active and some of the info (especially about foods and brands that are gluten-free) are no longer valid because companies change their ingredients a lot over time. 

      But anyway, if you go to that "all activity" button you should be in good shape.
