Guys - Just double-checking...it's still okay to drink plain brewed Starbucks coffee right? I just bought a bag of it (ground) and wanted to drink some...

yes should be no problem at all. I actually drink their handcrafted mochas almost every day. there are no gluten ingredients in them and they are yummy! diagnosed celiac 35 years. I love Starbucks! enjoy!

Plain brewed coffee is very gluten free, so enjoy!  In fact, I drink chai latte's from Starbucks and regular coffee ones too. I use soy milk and have never been glutened by those.  All the other drinks have a lot more ingredients and calories so I stay away from those.  Just tell them you have Celiac and they do a pretty good job with your drink.

AmandaD do u drink the soy milk from Starbucks? just curious... I have and don't have a problem with it and there are no gluten ingredients but of course Starbucks will not say whether it is gluten free.

I am not Amanda but I have always drank the soy milk at Bucky's without issue.  They will let you read the ingredients listing on the side of anything you ask them for.  Starbuck's will not say their products are gluten-free because of liability issues.  That is not necessarily a problem on their side but the fact that in America, people are so sue happy over nothing.  They prefer the safer way for them...letting the customer decide the risk, which is fine with me.  I would rather that than giving that responsibility to someone who has no clue.  Just because a product isn't swimming in gluten-free stamps doesn't mean there is any gluten in it.  I have been gluten-free for 11 years, am very sensitive and have never gotten sick at Starbuck's from anything.  I limit my drinks to a chosen few  and they do a good job with that. I have also never seen soy milk with gluten in it but I have not checked every single one.

I haven't but I've never really gotten glutened by a Starbucks yet thank GOD!

thanks for the replies. glad to know I am not the only one who drinks their stuff with no problem.i drink their soy and regular milk mochas almost everyday. love them!

      You have an odd story there. To me, the mechanical trigger suggests a mechanical problem and lower leg pain is a classic sciatica symptom. The fact that the clear mechanical linkage is no longer there does not take away from the fact that it was - maybe something shifted and the simple alignment is no longer there. There's also a good chance I am wrong and...

      Oddly this effect has gone now, just happened yesterday evening, the nerve pain is now back to its usual "unpredictable" random self again - but that was the only time I ever had some mechanical trigger for it, don't know why! There's no (or wasn't) actual pain in my neck - it was inside the leg, but when I looked down, now though, the leg pain just comes...

      I had MRI scan a few years ago showing everything normal, and now it's no longer triggering the nerve pain when I bow my head today - it only seemed to happen yesterday, and that was the only time it happened! Just seemed weird as no movement has caused my usual nerve pain before. It's normally just random.

      This hypothesis certainly lines up with my experience. Avoided getting Covid until August 2022. Celiac diagnosis three months later, and they think they caught it early (not a ton of damage in my EGD). I'd suspected the connection before, so it's nice to see researchers are interested in this question.

There's also a good chance I am wrong and it's something else entirely. @Scott Adams's mention of shingles is interesting. It seems possible but unlikely to me, but who knows. However, I am writing here to reinforce the idea of getting the shingles vaccine. Ask anyone who has ever had shingles and they will bend your ear telling you how bad it is. I watched my wife go through it and it scared the bejeebers out of me. Even if you had the chicken pox vaccine, you really want to get the shingles vaccine.

      Very good pizzeria with small dining room in back of the restaurant. The owner's daughter has celiac & they have gluten free pizza & a gluten free menu. Some items from the regular menu can be made gluten free also. They have a lunch menu which we ordered from & my chicken with spinach & mozzarella over gluten-free penne was delicious. They also have Tuesday night pasta specials & Thursday night chicken pasta specials. We plan on going back for dinner soon.
