Do you have questions about celiac disease or the gluten-free diet?

How Long Do You Need To Be gluten-free To See Results?

I was tested for celiac, it was negative, but I suspect I may have a gluten sensitivity or intolerance, mostly because I am seeing a neurologist for spinocerebellar ataxia, and there is such a strong connection between gluten and ataxia. Anyhow, I went gluten-free for maybe a month, and I was reading about the disease and diet meanwhile (Wheat Free, Worry Free by Danna Korn-excellent book). I saw no results (except losing weight that I can't afford to lose), and my neurologist saw no need for the diet. What thinkest thou??

I have severe gluten ataxia. It has been relieved quite a bit by the diet but it took much longer than a month, closer to six before I really noticed it. Did the gluten-free diet help with anything else, skin, gas, bloating, energy etc? Personally I would give it longer.
