Testing For Food Allergies

I know I'm gluten intolerant. I had a blood test a year ago. I wanted to get tested for other food allergies, but what do I tell my doctor? Do they give me blood tests? Sometimes I eat a grilled cheese sandwich and fill sick. Not really sick, but I feel uncomfortable. As far as I know, the cheese only has milk, which sometimes bothers me if I eat a lot of it, and the bread is gluten-free/wf. Sometimes the same thing happens when I have a turkey/mustard sandwich. None of those has gluten that I know of...GRRRR I hate this gluten crap. Anyway...2nd question:

Lately I've been really dizzy/lightheaded/heart races and I have to stop and sit down to catch my breath when I stand up...Anyone know what could be wrong? I told my doctor about it a few weeks ago and she had me get some blood tests for thyroid, folic acid, anemia...everything was fine. Anyone have an idea of what could be wrong? I'm supposed to make another appt. to see if I still feel like that..she doesn't know what's wrong though..maybe you guys have some ideas??

Ellen, sorry you are having these problems but many of people/ celiac do go thru dizziness and heart racing. I did when I had been on gluten free foods about 6 weeks. but never when I was @ dr. office. After a few more weeks it went away, mine only came when i was lying down or naybe I just did not notice it otherwise.

Are you definitely not allergic to milk? It does happen that a lot of celiacs have a problem for awhile then get over it after 6 mo. or so, way I was but I still do not over do milk or ?? It seems to me that you are reacting to something in the bread. It could be one of the ingredients or cross contamination. I get sick eating any of the replacement grain things. It could aslo be dairy one or both could cause the symptoms you are describing

      My dad had an Abdominal Aortic Aneurysm. Fortunately, it was discovered during an exam. The doctor could feel my dad's heart beating in his stomach/abdomen.       You have an odd story there. To me, the mechanical trigger suggests a mechanical problem and lower leg pain is a classic sciatica symptom. The fact that the clear mechanical linkage is no longer there does not take away from the fact that it was - maybe something shifted and the simple alignment is no longer there. There's also a good chance I am wrong and...

      Oddly this effect has gone now, just happened yesterday evening, the nerve pain is now back to its usual "unpredictable" random self again - but that was the only time I ever had some mechanical trigger for it, don't know why! There's no (or wasn't) actual pain in my neck - it was inside the leg, but when I looked down, now though, the leg pain just comes...

There's also a good chance I am wrong and it's something else entirely. @Scott Adams's mention of shingles is interesting. It seems possible but unlikely to me, but who knows. However, I am writing here to reinforce the idea of getting the shingles vaccine. Ask anyone who has ever had shingles and they will bend your ear telling you how bad it is. I watched my wife go through it and it scared the bejeebers out of me. Even if you had the chicken pox vaccine, you really want to get the shingles vaccine.

      I had MRI scan a few years ago showing everything normal, and now it's no longer triggering the nerve pain when I bow my head today - it only seemed to happen yesterday, and that was the only time it happened! Just seemed weird as no movement has caused my usual nerve pain before. It's normally just random.
