Wondering About Intestines

Recommended Posts

Is it possible the small intestine can be still inflammed after starting gluten free diet. Also, can gluten free items, coffee, soda and gluten free beer still irritate the intestines until they heal. This may seem obvious to some, but I just want to make sure. Since being gluten free 1 week things have improved some, but the intestine still seems bothered by coffee and soda. However, not as bad as 2 or 3 weeks ago. Also, anyone have any idea how long before the inflammation starts to subside. I really appreciate all the input so far. Thank You, Jgeorge

Coke, Coffee and Alcohol are harsh on your insides regardless of Celiac.

You are fortunate to be feeling some inprovement in a weeks time. It may take some time before you see a marked improvement. This is just the beginning.

Diary can also cause issues. Many dr's suggest you go dairy free for awhile after going gluten-free. I went gluten-free for a month or so and that really helped and I could tolerate dairy after that.
