  1. Last night my husband ended up marinating one steak in fresh squeezed oranges and the other in lemon and lime juice overnight and then cooking it on the George Foreman. He also attempted to make risotto since it one of my favorites, not bad for the first time even though not super creamy since he used regular long grain white rice. But it was served by candlelight...
  2. I wish I knew...my husband is making me dinner and there are 2 steaks marinating in the fridge in 2 different marinades. I smelled citrus fruits but he kicked me out of the kitchen before I could see what he was doing with it.
  3. Grilled ham steak with baked potatoes tonight.
  4. Yes she does, at least she is picky in a good way though:) We are using basil from our garden and I think I have some white wine in the cabinet, it will be simple though since my 5 year old wants to make it.
  5. Cajun roasted chicken tenders and risotto...strange combo, but the only way my 20 month old will eat any type of white rice.
  6. Tonight I am making pineapple pork chops in the crock pot and I think I may put them over rice for dinner.
  7. I wish I knew...I had planned on having taco chicken, coat chicken with taco season and pan fry it then after it's mostly cook add salsa and let it soak up some flavor. We used to serve it with sour cream, but I'm not sure we will do that when we have it.
  8. Tonight I am making cajun roasted chicken breast in the crockpot and I think I may make some kind of rice with it, not sure yet though.
  9. Tonight we are having pizza potatoes. It's my daughter's 5th birthday and she wanted pepperoni pizza for dinner so she decided that we would have a meat "pizza" and put pepperoni and turkey bacon with tomatoes on a baked potato "crust". And I think I may try to make a microwave brownie for her birthday dessert, if it doesn't work she still gets her cake on...
  10. That sounds really good. We are having london broil and smashed potatoes, probably add cucumbers too.
  11. Tonight we are having sandwiches, but without the bread. I am grilling chicken breasts on the George Foreman and after cooking will slice them in half and fill them with homemade pesto, turkey bacon and tomatoes.
  12. Thank you so much. They sound delicious and I think I will be trying the first one when it comes time to make mustard later this week.
  13. I let it sit for about 3 hours, the recipe had said just an hour. I like both types of mustard, but I prefer grainy.
  14. If you don't mind me asking, how do you make your homemade mustard? I found a recipe that uses ground mustard seeds, apple cider vinegar, light brown sugar and honey, but it just does not have the right flavor although it is not bad.
  15. Tonight I am cooking for family to celebrate my dad's birthday and I will be making a steak on the grill, yellow rice, asparagus tomato and basil salad with a lemon mustard dressing and possibly cucumber mango salad (the salads were found on Elana's Pantry website so I am hoping they turn out ok).
  16. Tonight is a simple burger (ground beef with just a little bit of ground pepper, onion and rice chex) and pan fried potatoes with garlic.
  17. Chicken and yellow rice again. I really need to get back in the kitchen.
  18. Tonight we are going simple and are having a garlic rubbed roast beef, crashed potatoes and some sort of green veggie(probably broccoli).
  19. I just tried this recipe and it was really good! The sauce tasted just like the sweet and sour sauce from our local chinese restaurant. Thank you for posting this.
  20. Hubby is making steak on our George Foreman grill and I think I'll make mashed potatoes to go with it, I haven't had them in so long.
  21. We tried pad thai last night.
  22. Tonight we had tacos kind of, instead of using shells we used a baked potato. Very simple yet comforting in a way.
