Two things almost guaranteed. Low vitamin D and insufficient Choline intake. Low choline leads to non Alcoholic fatty liver. Possible Role of Vitamin D in Celiac Disease Onset "Physiologically, choline is critical for a number of functions across the life cycle which include wide-ranging roles in human metabolism from neurotransmitter synthesis...

I cannot tolerate the common BP. Most are diuretics and they cause me big problems. Nothing to do with Celiac. Atenolol and Clonidine lower my BP up to 40 points. They don't know why they work but they can also be used to treat adult ADHD. I can drink a double espresso and go to sleep. SSRI's make me twitch and keep me wide awake. Be aware that...

Natural tendency to fear worst case. So many on this forum were misdiagnosed only to learn it was Celiac Disease all along. To really get a scare look up "200 symptoms of Celiac Disease". It can mimic anything because of autoimmune response and vitamin deficiencies. Once you start GFD and or correcting malnutrition you start healing so you will need...

Sugar and carbs feed the bad bacteria like H. Pylori and helps them flourish. Fiber is good for the good bacteria. -
Cautions for Coffee and Caffeine Drinkers
Wheatwacked commented on Lauren Lindsey's article in Additional Concerns
Some types of ADHD respond well to caffeine. It how they got the idea for Ritilin. I fall asleep faster after a strong cup of coffee. Mornings sometimes the coffee makes me sleepy if I am not active. -

Take him up on the offer. Teach your chlidren well. Most of our food preferences are culturally based and healthwise our culture isn't doing so well. -
Longer than that. Many symptoms are passed off as normal until you start gluten free living and replenish your vitamin deficiencies and realize it was not normal. Among the 19 sypmtoms that started to clear, I was a mouthbreather from birth to GFD. By the way for a large boost of hope: 250 mcg (10,000 IU) of vitamin D3 works in less than a week.

What's the Status of New Celiac Disease Drug Treatments?
Wheatwacked commented on Jefferson Adams's article in Diagnosis, Testing & Treatment
There were no cases of diabetes in Icelandic Eskimo until they were introduced to the Western Diet around 1950. The difference between your sister's Celiac Disease and your NCGS could be vitamin D plasma levels. Even if the role of vitamin D in celiac disease pathogenesis is not completely known, its potential role in immune regulation could link vitamin...- 11 comments

Very possibly. Now taking 500 mg each of B1, B3, B5, B12 and a B comlex for the rest. I was up to 2000 mg each to start replenishment. Note that food source B vitamins have unlimited Safe Upper Limit. Niacin: safe upper limit to supplements was set to avoid flushing ; uncomfortable at first but not dangerous. In some research supplementing with folic... -

I had that. Prednisone helped, saved me really. Before starting a gluten free diet I had to take 30 mg a day, Without prednisone I just lay in bed not moving for 22 hours a day. Even Tramadol did not help. After starting GFD two years later am down to 5 or 10 mg a day depending on activity. Because I started prednisone and was on it long term before GFD I... -
If the biopsy is positive for Celiac Disease, you definately have it. But if it is not positive it does not mean that you don't. You symptoms could also be Non Celiac Gluten Sensitivity, 10% are diagnosed NCGS while only 1% are diagnosed Celiac Disease. The difference appears to be the autoimmune aspect of Celiac Disease. Much of your discomfort even on gluten...

. There are more than 200 different symptoms associated with Celiac Disease. Your doctor's background will determine which ones you are misdiagnosed with. Bacteria such as Clostridium, E Coli or certain Streptococcus species are actually thought to be some of the most common contributors to SIBO. Infection can cause swollen lymph nodes. If it is a viral...

What @trents said. Inulin soluable fiber finally helped my bloating and bowel movements. I eat mostly plain canned vegetables that I rinse. Carrots, potato, peas, string beans, corn, beets. Publix prepackage Deli roast turkey, ham and chicken breast is good. For while you heal stay completely away from baked goods, gluten free or not. Vitamins are...

On gluten-free diet… diagnosed with Duodenitis
Wheatwacked replied to Condy's topic in Food Intolerance & Leaky Gut
Are you on prescribed meds? Proton pump inhibitors raise your stomach pH so it is not effective at keeping bacteria from proliferating in your duodenum. Make sure you are getting enough vitamin D, B vitamins and choline, I use Inulin to increase fiber. And stay away from ANY processed (boxed or bagged qualifies) while you heal. Work on eating lots of omega... -

Try 100% Pasture Fed milk. It has less omega 6, which causes inflamation. -
Symptoms, possible celiac

I was always a mouth breather and had sleep apnea until I started gluten free diet at 63 years. It will clear up. Starting GFD and increasing your vitamin D blood level to 80 ng/ml will help with the histamine. Imagine vitamin D is the sheriff and the immune cells (T,B, histomine, etc. are the deputies. Without enough sherrifs to direct them, the others... -
The benfotiamine makes sense because it would not be cleared as quickly. I am drinking 4 or more glasses of whole milk a day to "build strong bones and a healthy body" so theres my calcium, magnesium, potassium, vitamin A and more. Really seems to be helping. I buy 1 gal commercial whole milk and 1/2 gal 100% pasture fed whole milk to keep costs down. I figure...

Solgar B1 as Thiamine HCL, 500 mg per cap. I am taking 2000 mg three times a day and it seems to be improving vision issues and peripheral neurapathy and stamina. It seems like my trigger point is 6000 mg/day. I am hoping that between the increase in prednisolone to 15 mg and the B1 it will pull my glucose and A1C back into normal territory. Fasting blood...

Test results question
Wheatwacked replied to asaT's topic in Celiac Disease Pre-Diagnosis, Testing & Symptoms
It seems no matter what immune system dysfunction you have, you likely are difficient in vitamin D. It's almost like government and the health care industry encourages it. Until the industrial revolution we spent daytime in the sun creating vitamin D for immediate use and for storage for the winter. There is a homeostatic response (tanning and regulatory... -
I had to keep increasing vitamin D with no noticible effect until the third day at 10,000IU a day the effect kicked in and totally changed my sense of well being and mood and a case of long term Seasonal Affective Disorder no longer bothers me. I seriously looked at the bottle and exclamined: This is sunshine in a bottle!". If I stop taking it my blood level...

Malabsorption syndrome due to Celiac Disease would cause the deficiencies and the deficiencies in B12, Folate, Choline and/or B6 the reason for insufficient methylization of homocysteine. Take B12, eat beans for folate, take choline (or eat lots of eggs, milk and lean beef) and take B6. why folate from food, not folic acid supplement? "a 2018 prospective... -
Ask him to check you for Adrenal Insufficiency. If you say adrenal fatigue he will laugh at you. As a preventive measure he was on prednisone 10 mg every other...
