  1. Hi , confusing times. How is your daughter doing? You have several indicators of malabsorption syndrome. Your stool could be choline deficiency whiich could be simply not eating enough or not absorbing it. The RDA (the mininimum required to stay healthy) is 3 large eggs a day. B12, B6, Choline, Folate and homocysteine blood tests would help identify. ...
  2. The good news is that on gluten free diet she might not need those allergy shots and medications for the rest of her life.
  3. THE VALUE OF THE BANANA IN THE TREATMENT OF CELIAC DISEASE SIDNEY V. HAAS, M.D. NEW YORK. https://www.scdrecipe.com/scd-uploads/studies/1924-haas_banana.pdf These are his original published case files when it was called Infantism and mortality was high. My adaptation of his diet is lean ground beef, roast turkey breast, oranges, bananas, bell peppers...
  4. @C4Celiac has a good point. It might be worth more healing time on GFD with appropriate nutrition and see if she improves. Why does she say she can't bend over? Because it is uncomfortable or does it hurt, sharp or dull? Could she give it say six months? A lot depends on her pain tolerance and there is not a guaranty the cyst is the problem. Sometimes bending...
  5. How about this? "I can't eat anything with wheat, barley or rye. I don't know why. The doctors don't know why. Only my maker knows, and if you guys keep pressuring me to eat it, I'll be able to ask my maker in person that much sooner" 😁
  6. 10 to 40% of first degree relatives have celiac. A Complete Celiac panel periodically seems appropriate. Even better would be the whole family eat gluten free. It can happen any time. My son was a three month old, I was 63. Giving up gluten is hard because of the addiction aspect and staying gluten free is hard because of peer pressure. You are not...
  7. Yours is not necessarily ovarian, though it is good to be aware. If it is ovarian it could be deficiency of iodine, choline or folate, B12, B6, common in child bearing age women and they are amoung the 20 or so nutrients absorbed (or not) by the small intestine. Definately see a gynocologist to rule out endometriosis and ovarian cancer. dietary deficiencies...
  8. My first two nights I had VIVID dreams of donuts. Until this phase passes eat whatever helps, No wheat, barley or rye, though. It is temporary and once you've kicked that little gluten devil off your shoulder your taste buds will find wondrous new things. Here are my hints; take large doses of vitamin D and Thiamine . Raising your vitamin D plasma level...
  9. "Idiopathic arachnoid cysts in children are associated with neural tube defects." https://pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/622492/ "An arachnoid cyst is a noncancerous fluid-filled sac that grows on the brain or spinal cord. Symptoms include headaches and seizures, but many arachnoid cysts don’t cause symptoms. Treatment isn’t always necessary. Providers dra...
  10. Some of the confusion with B3 is that Niacin used to be called Nicotinic Acid. Years ago when the war on smoking began, someone decided to change the name to further distance from nicotine. It was announced that there is no connection. In fact Nicotine can be oxidized to Nicotinic Acid. "Niacin was originally called nicotinic acid because it can be...
  11. Just an educated guess but your dyspepsia is from Choline deficiency. If you can get blood tests for vitamim D, homocysteine, vitamin B12, b6, Folate it would be helpful. There is no test for Choline deficiency. Eat eggs and meat or take a Phosphotidly Choline pill. Could we be overlooking a potential choline crisis in the United Kingdom? "Core tip...
  12. The most important step now is helping your son find foods he likes and will choose over wheat, barley and rye. In the beginning the hardest part is breaking the old eating habits. Wheat is addictive, so there will be strong cravings. There will be peer pressure on him. Hard boiled eggs, Fritos, Cheese Doodles, Potato chips, ripe bananas, Snickers, almost...
  13. One more personal note. Does he have a stuffy nose all the time? I was a mouth breather as a kid until GFD at 63. Now 90% nose. No allergies, nothing wrong to be found. Basically they told my parents not to worry. Maybe he'll grow out of it. It was the wheat for 63 years! Might be worth making the whole family GFD.
  14. Here is a clearly written explaintion of the genes in Celiac Celiac Disease Genetic Testing. My son had it at weaning. I had an acute attack at 63, but once on a gluten free, vitamin and mineral rich diet I counted 19 lifelong issues that cleared. See Scott's article link below. While it seems very hypochondriac to do in the case of celiac disease it...
  15. Those were just diversions to keep you eating wheat which they add to these foods because wheat makes you want to eat more. Wheat is addictive. You stopped eating fried. Did you get better? You stopped eating bbq. Did it help anything? Gave up Chinese and beer. Any better? Use Tamari instead of Soy Sauce. I don't like beer but was addicted...
  16. I like cherry flavored magnesium citrate. 1 or 2 ounces in a glass of water tastes like lemonade to me. makes orange juice instead of water taste interesting. 10 ounce bottle about >$2. Each ounce has 390 mg of magnesium. The RDA is 310 (female, 18-30) . As a laxative the dose is 6.5 to 10 ounces. Start low, work your way up over a few days. What...
  17. After 3 month GFD I increased my vitamin D to 10,000 iu a day. On day 4 I looked at the bottle and exclaimed; "This truly is sunshine in a bottle" Somewhere around that time I started inviting people to my 130th birthday party in 2081. You'll have good days and better days then bad days. These are the foods I eat: cottage cheese, meat, vegatables...
  18. It is likely you have had malnutrion from unrecognized Celiac Disease most of your life, not uncommon with celiac disease. Of the more than 200 symptoms associated with Celiac Disease I counted 19 that improved for me just from GFD and vitamin replenishment. This is the perfect time to get the full panel of Celiac tests and vitamins from your primary...
  19. Some of the B vitamins, B3 Niacin, B6 Pyridoxine, and Folic Acid (B9) and vitamin E have upper limits on supplements but no upper limit to food sourced. Synthetic A, E and Folic Acid have been linked to stomach, prostate and lung cancer in some intervention trials. "While their benefits are generally unclear, beta-carotene supplements do seem to...
  20. Here is the list of what I eat. They are all gluten free with little chance of cross contamination. To increase muscle mass eat more protein and less carbs. Cottage Cheese Oranges Waternellon Meat Bananas Vegatables Meal planning for athletes "A growing body of research indicates that protein intakes well...
  21. A short time gluten free and you will start getting better. Next step is to replenish your vitamins and minerals. Some are low because of malabsorption (the reason for Carti) but some could be diet. Recovery is do-able. In 2013 I could not stand long enough to watch a single cup coffee brewer do its job.
  22. Make sure you are getting Choline. Either eggs and meat or pills. Apparently no one sells choline in parenteral feeding choices. They do in Europe. "choline deficiency appears to activate cellular apoptosis." https://pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/19874943/
  23. How long have you had low D? Taking the prescribed 400 iu a day they typically prescribe is simply a cruel joke on you. Vitamin D is not just about Rickets. It is a major player in the autoimmune world. Low D could be your answer, Fix that and look for more. My son is a lifeguard, spends his whole day in the sun and was diagnosed low D (less than 29 ng/ml...
