That is good news. Finding what you can eat is going to be trial and error. That is the reason for taking vitamins. To ensure your body has the tools to utilize the carbs and fats and proteins. For a weird example, I fasted 36 hours, wasn't hungry so I didn't eat, (black iced coffee only) my blood sugar goes up (500 mg Thiamine HCL daily). Next day I ate...

This may explain some of your issues. Typical store-bought grain-fed beef has an Omega-6 to 3 ratio of 20:1. Grass-fed beef has a ratio closer to 3:1, well within the 4:1 guidelines of a standard healthy diet. Commercial dairy has a ratio of 5:1; Organic dairy 3:1; and 100% grass fed 1:1. So at least while you are healing try to stick to grass...

Gluten-free Hydroxychloroquine
Wheatwacked replied to movietime's topic in Board/Forum Technical Help
The best way to quiet your autoimmune system is by raising your vitamin D level. Mayo Clinic Proceedings: Vitamin D Is Not as Toxic as Was Once Thought Ekwaru et al recently reported on more than 17,000 healthy adult volunteers participating in a preventative health program and taking varying doses of vitamin D up to 20,000 IU/d. These... -
What kind of vitamins were they? In a multivitamin or separates, or a targeted supplement? I get most of my vitamins from PipingRock.com, best prices I find and professional. $15 for 250 capsules of 10,000 IU of vitamin D. Cheaper than a psychiatrist visit. It begins to work in days. At the beginning of summer (first day of hurricane season) I...

Soaring Prices and Shortages Hit Gluten-Free Shoppers Extra Hard
Wheatwacked commented on Jefferson Adams's article in Additional Concerns
I noticed that Gluten free Oreos used to be close to the same price as the rest of the oreos, about half the price of other gluten free cookies. Now the price is double.- 9 comments

Hi Erica, I'm glad you have your diagnosis, now you can move forward and get even better than you were. Thoughout both threads I don't see any mention of vitamins or a nutrient dense diet. Celiac Disease is a disease of malabsorbtion. Here's what the Merck Manual says: "Celiac disease is an immunologically mediated disease in genetically susceptible people...

Now that your gut is healing you will start to absorb more. Your location in the midwest puts you in the Goiter belt so a good chance you are deficient in iodine. It seems that doctors can only prescribe vitamin D2 which is half as effective as D3. It's an insurance thing. It is hard to find 10,000 IU D3. PipingRock.com carries it in 250 capsule...

The way I read that report is the guy that did the endo believes it is Celiac Disease, but doesn't want to step on the prescriber's toes. Your bloodwork also classic Celiac. Most of the other symptoms are often found to improve with GFD and vitamin therapy. There are upwards of 200 symptoms that can be caused by malnutrion as a result of Celiac Disease... -
Hi Ericagl?. You can probably relax. I can't think of anyway the cutter could be contaminated with gluten but there might be residuals from the manufacting process. As you are so sensitive may I ask what your vitamin D plasma is? Most Celiacs are low to deficient unless they take steps to improve it and it is essential to autoimmune and mental health...

Concerned I have Celiac
Wheatwacked replied to Louise21's topic in Celiac Disease Pre-Diagnosis, Testing & Symptoms
Kind of defeats the purpose of PPIs - to reduce the acid put out by the stomach's Hydrocholoric Acid producing proton pumps? I think originally PPI were used to give the stomach lining a chance to heal from ulcers but nowadays you can get them over the counter so you can eat Pizza. I prefer Alka Seltzer and foods high in omega 3. -

Giving up the gluten lifestyle is like losing a loved one. There may be a period of mourning and thats ok. After all, your entire life you were told it is an essential part of your life and in the end it is not a good friend at all. Lots of vitamin D is your friend. I have taken 10,000 IU (250 mcg) a day since 2015. It gave me hope. I did not start GFD until... -

@knitty kitty mentioned in a recent post that she uses Lugol or Tincture of iodine to paint a patch for absorbtion through the skin and it does not cause an outbreak of her DH. I have read about the skin patch test and some say it is valid, others say it is not reliable. How to Perform the Iodine Patch Test. After about 2 weeks of eating one... -
Concerned I have Celiac
Wheatwacked replied to Louise21's topic in Celiac Disease Pre-Diagnosis, Testing & Symptoms
The aspect of Celiac Disease that is often diregarded by doctors is malabsobtion syndrome. There are some 20 essential vitamins and minerals that are absorbed in the small intestine that can be affected and if one is, so may be others, each with its own set of symptoms. That your brother is also experiencing symptoms often comorbid with Celiac increases your... -

This vitamin chart below might help in your quest. I thnk the risk of toxicity is much less than the effects of deficiency and is easily reversed. Our lactose tolerance as adults depends on the lactobacillus that live in our guts. Somehow they get killed off and we no longer have the lactase they produced. I restored mine by making my own salt fermented dill pickles for a few months. The other thing is that commercial dairies use feed additives to increase production and that increases the omega 6 to... -

If you are iodine deficient or just at the minimum RDA those testosterone supplements won't help. In the US intake of dietary iodine is half what it was in 1970. No wonder there are so many ads on TV for testosterone boosters. Increase your iodine intake. Save your money. Boosts the immune system and has anti-bacterial and anti-viral properties Is... -
I started taking 10,000 iu a day in May 2014.. I took until 2019 to get my plasma up to 47 ng/ml. In another two years i reached 86 and the next test was 80. It's been stable at 80 for about 2 years now. My last test I stopped taking it 3 weeks before the blood draw and my D plasma dropped to 72. The doctor said to continue. At first I read your post.as ...

The following is a long winded way of suggesting to increase your intake of vitamin D, vitamin B6, vitamin B12, Choline and Folate. It may help. It won't hurt. It looks like the name of your symptoms is MCS Multiple Chemical Sensitivities. Very little research has been done. The medical industry simply recommends avoidance. As you said No Clue. In...

Susie, I agree with you about the Prolia. To me the potential side effect damage could be worse. The NWHN is concerned that for most postmenopausal women the benefit of denosumab does not outweigh the risks. We recommend that women seeking osteoporosis treatment approach denosumab with caution. A 70 year old produces 10% of the DHEA compared to...

Iodine was actually the first mineral I identified as a deficiency. I tried some expensive supplement brand but it didn't seem to do anything but lighten my pocket. The first thing I noticed was my upper chest and arms felt more toned. One sheet weighs 2.5 grams. ONE ORGANIC’s roasted seaweed (yaki nori) is 100% natural and certified USDA organic. ...
