    Roasted Asparagus with Balsamic Butter (Gluten-Free)

    Reviewed and edited by a celiac disease expert.

    This simple sauce of balsamic vinegar, butter, and soy sauce does the job perfectly. It's easy to make, and really brings out the flavor of the asparagus.

    06/17/2021 - Our endless search to find new ways to highlight the joys of fresh asparagus have turned up this little gem. Fresh asparagus is so full of flavor that is rarely needs much to do it justice. This simple sauce of balsamic vinegar, butter, and soy sauce does the job perfectly. It's easy to make, and really brings out the flavor of the asparagus.

    Ingredients:

    • 1 pound fresh asparagus, trimmed
    • cooking spray
    • salt and pepper to taste
    • 2 tablespoons butter  
    • 1 tablespoon soy sauce
    • 1 teaspoon balsamic vinegar

    Directions:
    Heat oven to 400F (200 degrees C).

    Arrange the asparagus on a baking sheet. Coat with cooking spray, and season with salt and pepper.

    Bake asparagus 12 minutes in hot oven, or until tender.

    Melt the butter in a saucepan over medium heat. 

    Remove from heat, and stir in soy sauce and balsamic vinegar. 

    Pour over the baked asparagus to serve.
