Vitamin Supplements

Recommended Posts

I am 24 and newly diagnosed with Celiac. I have been doing research on supplements to take (and why). Does anyone have suggestions on what to take, or received advice from a nutritionist on what to take? I live in a small town so celiac knowledge is uncommon around here.

Thanks!

At your age, you don't need any supplements if you have a healthy diet.  Only supplement if Physician run blood tests show a deficiency.

Since celiac results in malabsorption, you probably need supplementation. Most MDs are clueless about this. One specific suggestion: if celiac has triggered Hashimotos autoimmunity, you need a trace mineral supp that will normalize iodine, selenium, zinc ... Necessary for thyroid function.
