Celiac Genetic Test Results - Still Clear as Mud

Rate this topic

Recommended Posts

I recently had a celiac genetic test done by Life Extension, and the results came back as:

DQB1*02, DQB1*03

DQA1*05, DQA1*05

So I apparently have the infamous DQ2.5 (DQA1*05/DQB1*02 combo).  But what does the DQA1*05 DQB1*03 make?

Can anyone also tell me which came from what parent?  That is, did I get one DQA and DQB from each parent?

And also, what combos might I pass on to children?

My daughter turned out to be major celiac with DQ2.5 but her Prometheus test just said "DQ2 Heterozygous, DQ2.5 (HLA DQA1*05:DQB1*0201) and other non-risk alleles"

Though genetic testing simply means potential, I need to pass this on to other family members.  Thanks!
