Hi

I think I uderstand what the orange box is for after the word pinned.

My CPAP sleep apnea mask question NEVER appeared on the 'new posts for the day'

Can you tell me why it is only found on the sleep page? It says 9 people looked at it

Don't think people ever saw it if they ck'd the daily new stuff.

Thanks

Judy in Philly

Ok, just saw this sitting at the bottom of the last page of this topic...does it sit here until it is pinned???

Am I posting wrong?

I saw somewhere that you have to log in each time you go on line....well, i neve do that...i just click on my email from celiac.com to a responce and read it and then go to view new topics...is this incorrect?????

I pinned the topic in question along with any other unpinned topics. I remember doing so because I had never heard of the product you were talking about and found it very interesting. I did not skip over any new topic and pinned them all.

You do not have to sign in if you never sign out. So, you are fine doing that. Clicking the "view new posts" button only shows you posts since your last visit. If you come twice on one day it will only show the new posts since your second visit, not from the whole day.

Like SuicdalTurtle said if you already viewed it....its no longer a new post on *your* screen but other people who have not viewed it yet can still view it as a new post.

Yes...the moderators pin the topics. There are 12 of us...your topic wont be missed but sometimes it may take awhile for a moderator to view it.

Thanks so much Rachel and SuicdalTurtle---

I know it's a thankless job and you moderators give us so much time and we thank you--

Again as i said in other posts, I'm not complaining just confused as to 'how it works'

I know they only get pinned when the M has time to do it and it explains why one at 3:00 gets pinned before one at 3:00--it was in the same topic so therefore confused me.

This I did not know...I thought we all saw the same screen.

I even understand the orange box beside the pinned too. You guys are the best :):)

Definitely worth speaking to your gastroenterologist about this. My own told me that by using Gaviscon a barrier forms over the contents of the stomach and stops gas and acid irritating the throat.  In fact, he said to me that because I found relief using Gaviscon that was a very clear indicator that reflux was the cause of that particular issue.   A wedge pillow will really help with this - or raising the top bed legs with bricks.

I did get the pneumonia vaccine about 4 years ago. I had this amazing allergist who did all those vitamin deficiencies test and told to get that vaccine. Unfortunately she retired.  I haven’t been to an allergist in a few years,  I’m not sure what my levels are now. I did have a pulmonologist who wasn’t concern and said I seemed fine to him that I was young etc. But yes I think I should at the very least get a different opinion. Thank you for your reply

Yes I do have acid reflux. I’m not on anything for it at the moment. I sometimes wonder if that’s what it could be because I get heart burn every night. I may revisit my gastrointestinal doctor again. Thanks for the reply

Hi @HelloFlowersGoodbyeFlour I wonder if you suffer from reflux, as if you do, you may find it could also be irritating your airways.  I shall explain: I have to use a blue inhaler from time to time, and it seems to be related to reflux.  Never had any trouble before my coeliac diagnosis, the reflux seemed to be something that developed following a holiday to France in 2019, where I had been exposed to gluten.    The reflux continued into the autumn and winter, my throat itched to begin with, particularly after meals, but it then that feeling of irritation seemed to spread to my lungs.  I even found it difficult to breathe on occasion. What stopped it in its tracks was using a wedge pillow at night, following a reflux diet (you can find them online), not eating 2-4 hours before bed and also having a dose of Gaviscon Advanced at night, which forms a barrier so that acid/food can't go back up your esophagus.  The throat irritation faded, and then I found it easier to breathe again. Just mentioning in case it could be a contributing factor.

Since initially getting your D checked a few years ago, has it since rebounded to normal levels? Sounds like at some point you got it checked again.
