Has anyone tried this stuff. Is it better than soy milk?

My son who was on Prosobee until he was over 5 years old was able to tolerate the 100% lactaid. He was used to the taste of soy and eventually got used to the taste of lactaid. It's pretty close to milk, seems a little sweeter to me. I've used it if that is all we have for milk.

What is the cost of Lactaid relative to soy milk? I pay $3-4 for a half gallon of silk soy milk.

I just paid about the same for a half-gallon of the Organic Valley "lactaid" milk. I want to say $3.49? and there was a 55cents off coupon on the carton. But it was at a small local market that I convinced to start carrying it and I forget what I usually pay elsewhere.

Lactaid milk is a little sweeter, and doesn't have the legume taste of soy milk. YMMV, of course. (Your mileage may vary.)

But, lactaid is just a brand name for lactose free milk, which means that the lactase enzyme has been added to the milk to break down the lactose sugar (the component simple sugars - glucose and galactose).

It still has casein, the milk protein; so if casein intolerance is the problem, lactaid won't help.
