Is There A Connection Between Celiac/gluten And

Recommended Posts

I have been doing a gluten-free diet for quite a while now. However, I may keep falling prey to CC with things like fries, corn chips, and other items. I also notice that I'm always starving at all hours of the day. I can eat a meal and my stomach is physically distended and am even a little uncomfortable, but find myself still hungry or with an empty feeling in my stomach. I guess I never really thought about the whole nourishment piece. The reason I am going crazy with all of this is that I have to wait to get to all my docs to find out what is going on. Waiting is the hard part.

After going on gluten free diet it is common for awhile to feel like you are starving...I went thru that too, do not believe that will last too long for you..just EAT food good for you..extra protein helped me. Good you are on here..you will get a lot of good information here at Celiac.com...wish you well...evie

Thank you very much Evie and Doll. I wonder why this hungry feeling is common in those with celiacs/gluten intolerance? Is it because of being under/malnourished for so long and the body is saying feed me because it is truly in need of food due to so many years of poor absorption? I've been going through the constant hunger thing for about 9-10 months, but that is with all the CC thrown in there. That's certainly not doing me any good. Right now, I do have to get the CC under control. I figured I could get away with it, but now I know that I cannot. There goes all my Quaker products at home. Oh well, it beats being sick. All I want is to feel like a normal, vibrant, and healthy 30 y.o. woman. I'm tired of suffering and would like someone to get to the bottom of the mysteries.
