Rash...that's Not Dh?

my daughter is a diagnosed celiac. both my husband and myself were tested and were negative. i have all the typical gi symptoms and have started the diet with my dd. i feel MUCH better!

my question is can you have a rash that's NOT DH but is still because of gluten?

my sis has eczema(pompiholyx) on her hands, she gets these tiny bubbles that eventually pop and peel or crack. I've started getting the same thing in the past 2 years or so...along with the rash i have always had on the backs of my elbows off an on since i was a teenager. its very itchy at times, and quite small in terms of size of the actual bumps. I've googled pics of dh and it looks nothing like it so i don't think that's what this is. Any ideas, experience or opinions?? thx!!

Hi, I have a 19 year old that was diagnosed gluten intolerant 3 months ago. I think her dad and grandma have many symptoms but have not been tested. My other daughter age 16 had skin problems the day she was born, in July...we called it heat rash. She has relatives with skin probs. I think she could be gluten sensitive too. For 2 years she gets tiny, hard bumps on her arms that are not pimples but you can squeeze them. Then they itch, get scabby. Scabs get itched off then turn to scars. Look up "chicken skin". She needs to be tested for gluten allergy. Could be what you have.

I get rashes on my hands. It is called Dyshidrosis, also termed Dyshidrotic Eczema, Pompholyx and Dyshidrotic Dermatitis. It only occurs on the hands and feet. Dh typically is on knees, back, arms, buttocks.

Mine is absolutely related to wheat.

Someone on her a while ago said hers was related to all her food intolrances, not just gluten. She also could not have egg and corn I think.

Mine is 99% gone. It is nothing now. but I do get a few bubbles here and there. I have other food issues too.

Purple, your daughter could get a skin biopsy to see if it is DH

Mine is definitely triggered by inflammation and stress! I do also have arthritis in my spine, but the pain is more in my pelvic area. Im sure i have other food intolerances or other autoimmune isues but the more I focus on it and see doctor after doctor, it just gets worse.  Best thing is get of Gluten! (I also avoid lactose). Try to limit stress and anything that causes inflammation in your body.

Good morning,   I got an email about replies to this post. Some of my doctors had blamed a slipped disc for the pain I had and that contributes, but after meeting with a gastroenterologist AGAIN and trying some lifestyle modifications, I found out I have IBS and can't tolerate corn or excessive fructose to any degree. Cutting out corn AFTER having cut out all gluten containing products was a real pain but I feel much better now!

So, I contacted Scott Adams, the author of that article and also the creator/admin of this website, and pointed out to him the need to clarify the information in the paragraph in question. He has now updated the paragraph and it is clear that the DGP-IGA does serve the purpose of circumventing the false negatives that IGA deficiencies can generate in the tTG-IGA antibody test.

Has anyone experimenced enlarged lymph nodes with celiac? Both in the neck and groin area. Imaging of both areas have said that lymph nodes are reactive in nature. However, they have been present for months and just wondering how long this may take to go down. Been gluten-free for about two months. Blood counts are normal.
