Red Wine With Gluteny Meal

I read somewhere that if you have wine with a gluteny meal, the reaction is 100-fold. I'm newly gluten-free, but whenever I used to have wine, it was usually with a pasta dinner (my favorite). Not only would I feel awful from the pasta meal, but the wine would just knock me out. I thought it was just an alcohol reaction, but now I'm wondering if it's the wine in conjunction with the gluten.

Has anybody heard about this?

The alcohol can allow more 'stuff' to get into the bloodstream more quickly and helps increase the permeability of the gut. Even more so if the alcohol has 'bubbles'. If your gut is already damaged this could result in a more severe reaction IMHO.

I think it could also have something to do if you are sensitive to sulfites, as I suspect that I am. Some wines will bother me more than others, symptoms ranging from stuffiness to acid reflux, to even feeling like I am coming down with the 'flu' (strange, I know, but sometimes, I'll go to bed with a hat, socks, sweatpants, fleece AND have the heated mattress pad a few hours after consumption :o )

      I have been looking for brands that are ready to make areas of time as I normally hear my oatmeal 1 min in microwave every morning. It appears buckwheat requires allot of cleaning soaking longer cook times. Any eat recipes have you tried. Also what's the reason if adding lemon juice to groats? Thanks

      @nancydrewandtheceliacclue, If I were you I would give up the bread tossing until everything is under control for a few months straight. Then try doing it again and see if symptoms return. If you just can't give it up, try wearing a good mask, tie your hair up tight, and take other steps to reduce the possibility of crumbs sticking to you and eventually ending up in your food. Attached below is a link to a nice graphic on what 10 mg would look like and I think it would be possible to ingest enough crumbs through the air. Also keep in mind that some people are reacting even at 10 mg per day.       I love buckwheat groats (or kasha). I also like to add peanut butter to it. There are a bunch of these alternatives but I also recommend amaranth. It's good with fruit and/or cinnamon.

      @nancydrewandtheceliacclue, if you had trouble breathing, I agree with Scott. That sounds like anaphylaxis.
