Well, I am heading to a concert on the 23rd with a friend from college. I am going to have to eat, and I am going to have to function throughout the night. I was thinking a loaf of udi's and some pb/jelly in my car, some larabars, and a stop at Whole Foods for coffee and breakfast. I am wicked excited about going although super nervous about the food situation!!!

Suggestions??

It's so great to feel like a 23 year old again!!!

I hate to sound like a broken record, as I have posted this before, but a lifesaver for us has been ZonePerfect bars. Not all of their flavors are gluten-free, but several are, including Double Dark Chocolate, Chocolate Caramel Cluster, Chocolate Almond Raisin, Chocolate Peanut Butter, and Fudge Graham (despite the name). These are a high-protein bar so they are pretty satisfying. You can get them for about $1 each.

the last concert I went to I brought those rice crackers/Glutino pretzels and some cheddar cheese. I had some shrimp cocktail too. Good luck!

I always take Larabars everywhere. I research the area I'll be traveling to and find restaurants with gluten free menues. I play it super safe and don't eat anything unproven before the concert, pack pepto and advil just in case. Then depending on how late it is after I find a safe meal.

Something I didn't think of at my last concert...beer. Unsure what type of concert you attend but I go to metal shows and I got beer thrown all over me in the mosh pit.

Having beer dumped on me is a nightmare of mine! O_o I have a lot of meetings for work in bars so it is a definite hazard! O_o

I make up some gluten-free pasta salad when going to a concert. then eat it afterwords. It is hearty and sustains me and I don't have to worry. :)

Just got a visual of someone in full Haz Mat gear in the mosh pit. :P

I've been to 3 concerts in the last 2 months (Paul Mccartney- something to cross off m bucket list) Roger Waters performing The Wall and an Australian Pink Floyd Cover Group. I brought my own food but still seriously CC'd by all of the spilled beer around me. Bottom line is that the concerts were worth every bit of suffering i felt over the next few days. So... bring your own food, realize you might have day or two that you don't feel well but above all ENJOY!!!!!!!!!!!!!

P.S. going to see U2 in the summer and regardless of any CC I can't wait to go!!!! Please let us all know how it went!

You have an odd story there. To me, the mechanical trigger suggests a mechanical problem and lower leg pain is a classic sciatica symptom. The fact that the clear mechanical linkage is no longer there does not take away from the fact that it was - maybe something shifted and the simple alignment is no longer there. There's also a good chance I am wrong and it's something else entirely. @Scott Adams's mention of shingles is interesting. It seems possible but unlikely to me, but who knows. However, I am writing here to reinforce the idea of getting the shingles vaccine. Ask anyone who has ever had shingles and they will bend your ear telling you how bad it is. I watched my wife go through it and it scared the bejeebers out of me. Even if you had the chicken pox vaccine, you really want to get the shingles vaccine.

Oddly this effect has gone now, just happened yesterday evening, the nerve pain is now back to its usual "unpredictable" random self again - but that was the only time I ever had some mechanical trigger for it, don't know why! There's no (or wasn't) actual pain in my neck - it was inside the leg, but when I looked down, now though, the leg pain just comes and goes randomly as before again.

I had MRI scan a few years ago showing everything normal, and now it's no longer triggering the nerve pain when I bow my head today - it only seemed to happen yesterday, and that was the only time it happened! Just seemed weird as no movement has caused my usual nerve pain before. It's normally just random.

Very good pizzeria with small dining room in back of the restaurant. The owner's daughter has celiac & they have gluten free pizza & a gluten free menu. Some items from the regular menu can be made gluten free also. They have a lunch menu which we ordered from & my chicken with spinach & mozzarella over gluten-free penne was delicious. They also have Tuesday night pasta specials & Thursday night chicken pasta specials. We plan on going back for dinner soon.

@Aretaeus Cappadocia and @Russ H thank you both for your helpful advice and information. I haven't seen a GI in years. They never helped me aside from my inital diagnosis. All other help has come from my own research, which is why I came here. I will be even more careful in the future.
