If I want to microwave something gluten free in a bowl that has been used for non gluten free food is it ok to just thoroughly wash it and use it? Thanks

If it is plastic I would say no. Ceramic that has no chips or cracks in it should be fine.

A good washing will remove gluten from a bowl with an intact solid surface. Anything that has noticeable scratches or that is porous (wood) would be a potential issue. Plastic is fine if it is in good condition (not scratched).
