Gluten / Allergy Sensitive In Houston?

Rate this topic

Recommended Posts

Going to Houston, TX for the weekend. I am looking for suggestions on restaurants to eat at. Preferably on the west side of the city, as that is where we will be staying. Wanting a NICE restaurant, not just a chain with a gluten-free menu, although that's welcome as well.

Thank you!!

Haven on 2502 Algerian Way (713) 581-6101. This is central Houston, but the chef is very knowledgable, so it may be worth the trek. My husband showed the chef my Cecelia's Marketplace dining card, the chef said "Oh, that's just standard for cooking for those with celiac." The web site doesn't show a gluten-free menu, but when we were there, they gave me a menu marked with what was gluten-free and what they could change to make a dish gluten-free. They also worked around my need to not eat garlic or onion. The atmosphere is very nice, and the prices are reasonable.
