The Hersheys Company

I emailed Hersheys asking which of their products are gluten free? Here's the response I received:

Thank you for contacting The Hershey Company.

Our product label includes an accurate listing of the ingredients in our products. However, on occasion, the list of ingredients can change. We encourage you to check the ingredient label on the package before you make a purchase. This label provides accurate, current information about all the ingredients in the package.

If you should have questions concerning additional products, please call us at 800-468-1714. A representative will be glad to assist you with any questions you may have.

We appreciate your loyalty as a consumer.

This is a common response from companies that have a comprehensive gluten-disclosure policy. They will not produce a list of gluten-free products. They will tell you to read the label, since gluten will be clearly disclosed there, and the label is relevant to the product you are actually dealing with.

There have been some evasive responses to questions by customer service reps at Hershey which has caused some members here to distrust their labels. As a diabetic, I very rarely eat chocolate, so I am not a good source of practical experience.

Yeah, as Peter mentioned, Hershey has not be a particularly Celiac "friendly" company. I prefer not to support their products. And Dove Promises are sooooo much better. ;)
