I got the results back from my endoscopy, and I do have celiac. I am relieved that I wasn't crazy!! I am VERY thankful to have a great team of doctors that listened to me and ran the tests I requested without question!! I am extremely lucky that my diagnosis took only 2 months from rash to positive diagnosis (though rash is negative for DH! Go figure!!).

So I am officially here . . . and it really hasn't been as difficult as I thought it would be!!! :)

Oh . . . and I wake up feeling RESTED for the first time in years!!! I used to blame it on my kids . . . guess it was just the gluten!!! :)

Welcome to the healthier part of the rest of your life ! B)

2 months....... may be the land speed record, or for Guinness Book of World Records.

Yes! That's a record! And congrats! I love your attitude! We've gone from "blame it on the kids" to "blame it on the gluten" here as well! Thinking of you!

I'm so glad for you, that you had doctors who were so responsive! As for the rash, maybe they didn't do the biopsy correctly...I hear they often biopsy the inflamed tissue rather than the tissue near it, and that invalidates the testing.

Anyway, glad to hear you are having such a quick response to the diet! Woo-hoo!

Funny how a diagnosis of such a 'bad' condition can be so relieving, if even just to know we're not 'crazy'! You're lucky to be diagnosed so quickly & good on your detective skills for demanding the tests! Sometimes it really feels like we know more than the doctors do, doesn't it! :)

One small study I read recently found that half of the celiacs in the study experienced small bowel villous inflammation from CMP (Cow's Milk Protein).

It’s interesting that you say this. I’ve been constipated all my life, fatigued since I got my first period, severely anemic for 2 and a half years, low vitamin D. But it wasn’t until after I got food poisoning a couple weeks ago, that I have not had a normal bowel movement since. And my drs told me to eat a lot of gluten because they want to test me for celiac, primarily because of the anemia and chronically low ferritin. Ferritin is supposed to be 14 but ideally 50-146. 2 and a half years ago it was 3.7, then 7.3, then 10.3, but now it’s 5. And a year ago I got on birth control so I don’t even get a period anymore. Almost all of my current health issues (much more than just celiac) either started or became a lot worse after I got Covid 2 years ago. If anyone has any tips for me it’d be greatly appreciated. Waiting on my blood test results, should get them in a day or 2.

Thank you! He is avoiding all of the BROW recommended gluten culprits. He does still eat dairy and he knows about FodMap foods that have proteins hard to digest! Thanks for all the great advice! I appreciate all the comments.

Any suggestions from other celiacs for spices in Canada? I am super sensitive. Thank you
