  1. Betty crocker & glutino make great brownie mixes and they are easy to find. They aren't as big as some regular mixes. But, if you don't over cook, they are chewy and yummy. I serve them to gluten eaters and they love them. Cookie mixes usually, aren't as tasty. But Glutino or Kinnknick make great Oreo type cookies people love. If...
  2. Do you mean the dip mix? It says it's gluten-free on it. https://www.hiddenvalley.com/products/dips-and-dressing-mixes/dressing-mixes/original-ranch/
  3. From what I have seen advertised & have heard when I have been in Colorado - gluten-free edibles is a big deal! Seems like lots of people at least dabble with gluten-free there.
  4. Rudeness like that (not your post) is why a lot of people have stopped trying to help. We get so many people on here that are gluten-free for many different reasons, including Celiac and, my favorite - "my sister's hairdresser told her I should go gluten-free" - that asking if you have been tested is actually a normal question. No one could tell if the...
  5. Here is another way to donate. this group is based in Kansas City. they opened the first gluten-free/ allergen friendly food pantry in the US. https://www.facebook.com/donate/115086459170288/1498311410206397/
  6. I don't think think Celiac had anything to do with the side effects of those meds. I think those are possible side effects for any one? They didn't specify Celiac, correct?
  7. Let's just skip the scientific info- if your child was anaphylactic to wheat, you must have seeen that by now? I know at least 50 people with Celiac, none carry epi pens for gluten. One has a terrible allergy to peanuts, one to shell fish- they have an epi pen for that. I don't want you to panic that your child's life is in immediate danger...
  8. I am trying to help you get reliable info from actual medical sources. Celiac is not an allergy. THis girl may have an allergy to wheat, but that is different. And it isn't possible to have Celiac and allergies to other things. I have Celiac and I seem to have an allergy to corn pollen. But that allergy is separate from Celiac
  9. Lots of good and reputable info on this site http://www.cureceliacdisease.org/
  10. Celaic disease is not an allergy, so you don't suffer an anaphylactic reaction. Usually, there is no reason to go to the hospital after an accidental glutening.
  11. Well....That is nice. First, if these enyzmes work like they claim, I don't think they were meant or tested to add to some random beer at a bar. https://www.gluten.org/gluten-free-vs-gluten-removed-beer-study-q/ "The effectiveness of “removing” gluten by breaking it down into smaller fragments has not been validated or accepted by ...
  12. And there in lies the problem... no accurate testing for these supposed " gluten removed" beers. They test.... but the tests aren't meant for beer or barley... and putting drops in drinks at bars might get you arrested...
  13. The stuff pictured is likely tested for gluten. What companies and consumers are confusing is the allergen labeling versus gluten labeling. For allergen labeling, they will list that peanuts are in the facility, for example. Some companies have taken that to the extreme and mention any allergen that might be in the facility. To be certain, you could call...
  14. No. That isn't how "certification" works. Companies agree to a certain set of rules/ standards from the certifying agency. Usually they agree to test for gluten, and the test must be below 20 or 10 ppm depending on the organization they use. Many companies do not want to pay some company when they already do at least as much as the certifying organization...
  15. Yes Mt dew is gluten-free. Whiskey should be gluten-free. Rum should be gluten-free, too. A very slight chance a flavored one is not.
  16. This is so stupid! Why does our news service think this is a legit source for articles?
  17. I think apples are one of those foods that pull a lot of water through with them. Supposed to help with constipation......
  18. I buy tinkyada lasagna noodles. No need to pre boil. I think most people don't boil gluten-free lasagna noodles, no matter what brand.
  19. You need to be eating gluten to get the endoscopy
  20. I assume they have re-tested your blood Celiac antibodies? It seems like people with Celiac sometimes tend to blame every symptom or illness on celiac. Unfortunately, we are just as likely to get other illnesses and conditions, as anyone else. Sounds like you are pursuing other diagnoses.
  21. You have been gluten free for 5 years - you should be able to absorb your vitamins. I think it would make more sense to test if you are compliant with your diet and our antibodies have gone down.
  22. I second what Gemini said. I have no gluten issues with Barilla pasta
  23. I think Peter said I think well. also - people with Celiac do not have to avoid all grains. People with Celaic do not need to avoid soy, either.
  24. http://celiaccommunity.org/2017/hurricane-relief/ "A task force* of hospital celiac centers, nonprofit organizations, support groups and community leaders is facilitating gluten-free product donations and gluten-free/allergy-friendly designated monetary donations to food banks in impacted areas of Texas. This page will be updated as information...
  25. Really? Low stomach acid? She is just diagnosed Celiac, which is a cause of low iron. Why not let her heal from the Celiac and see what that doesn't for her levels? Why look for stuff beyond the obvious?
