Hello Anand,

Is there any explanation along with the test result?  You would need a double DQ2 or DQ8 for Celiac to be present on both sides of your family.  I was gene tested and have a double DQ2 gene but I was not too surprised.  Like your parents, both of my parents are highly symptomatic for Celiac. I am in the United States.

It looks like you have at least 1 gene but I am not sure, from these results, if it is a double. If there is only one gene, it came from one or the other side and usually, you can make a guess as to which one from symptoms. This test will back up your diagnosis but it does mean there will be others in your family who probably have it also.

Thanks Gemini, there is no explanation with the result... Just know I have this gene - HLADQB1*0201.
