Dairy, But Not So Much Fat, Intolerance.

I tried going totally off dairy the last few days to see the effect. I am aware that lactose intolerance is a side effect, but I have a cheese tooth. Swiss is cocaine to me.

My belly feels better, but best of all is making happy gurgling noises and going down a bit. I guess I was in denial before, but its dairy free for me.

Fat intolerance may also be an issue. I always try to eat low fat meats, but I guess I thought dairy fat was different  or healthier than milk fat. Maybe its worse.

What exactly makes you think you're intolerant to fat?  Just asking since many Celiacs have fatty stools and it makes some people think their bodies don't like fat, which is not the case.

I'm also a reformed dairy addict.  I'm intolerant, but can't figure out if it's the lactose.  I just know I do tolerate kefir, which is 98% lactose free.  It's not allowed on a low-histamine diet, so I'm on a break.

Your intestinal tract is not functioning properly. While it is healing (of course avoiding gluten is number 1), consider adding enzymes, etc. to help you digest your food during this transition period. Did you read the newbie section? It contains valuable tips to help sped healing.

Take care!
