  1. With positive lifestyle changes, and certain natural supplements, I have been able to reduce the amount of prescription medications I take. I currently take two, Wellbutrin for adult ADD symptoms, and Avapro for hypertension. I was surprised to discover that the side effects of some medications mimic those of gluten sensitivity. It is important to state...
  2. My wife has me on a keto diet to lose weight. Its easy since I dont eat gluten, but all the meat and fat doesn't sit well with me. I am losing a bit of weight, but my belly is constantly sore and bloated from eating all this rich food. Is it possibly gluten has damaged my digestion to the point fat isn't getting broken down?
  3. There was a post by Runner in 2008 about stomach sloshing. His doctor thought it was related to celiac. Is this a symptom? If I am thirsty and drink a lot, my stomach stays bloated a sloshy for a couple of hours. Also, a big but not overly big meal fills me up and puts me on the couch.
  4. I have tried lots of supplements to deal with the pain, bloating, and inflammation in my stomach. This was when I thought I had IBS. Now that I am gluten-free, my gut feels much better, but I am 60, with many years of gluten consumptuion, and have always been a 'slow healer'. I just started using Cat's Claw. Its available in many forms. Just a week in, and...
  5. Thanks Ennis. I am trying to go alcohol free anyway. I have tried lots of supplements to speed up the healing of my intestines, just started using Cat's Claw. Seems to be working!
  6. Does anyone else notice that while your intestines are healing, especially if you are recently gluten-free, that hard liquor exacerbates the intestinal inflammation? For me wine and gluten-free beer or okay, but cocktails make me bloat. With the holidays approaching, I would like to know what I can say yes and no to!
  7. Hello again group. I haven't posted for some time. I am one of those gluten sensitive(not celiac) peeps that after being gluten free for several weeks, decides they are not gluten sensitive after all! Then, weeks later, all the symptoms show up again! I am on a gluten free FB group and its not uncommon. My doctor, my family, and a few of my friends dismiss...
  8. About four years ago I started a topic about N-Acetyl Glucosamine. It is supposed to be able to bind to gluten lectins and escort them from your body, before they damage your intestines and joints. I did try a bottle and had ok results, but didn't keep with it. Since then my gluten sensitivity has gotten worse, and so have my knees, to the point where...
  9. Saccharomyces Boulardii is a probiotic yeast that is supposedly helpful for IBS, especially travelers diarrhea. I have a IBS with a sensitivity to gluten and casein. Being on the road a lot, there are often times when I dont pack a gluten free lunch and all I can find is a sandwich or something else with gluten. I know I will pay for it with an upset stomach...
  10. Hi Keto. I certainly share you frustration. Even with low calories and exercise my weight continues to creep up. I have tried low carb, but I am not a big meat eater. And I cant eat dairy because of the casein. Most of my weight is on my belly-the rest is normal. Wish I could find the answer too! Good luck!
  11. I have been able to maintain fairly good digestion and a manageable belly until two weeks ago. I was staying at a hotel and we were snowed in. All their was to eat was muffins. I figured I could deal with the future discomfort as a trade off for not starving. Two weeks later my belly is still distended. People are even commenting on it. In the past, a reaction...
  12. Hello Barry! I hope you are feeling better on the gluten-free diet. :~)

  13. I am a 52 year old guy in Saskatoon, Canada.

  14. Anyone else suffer from this? Is it a symptom of gluten intolerance?
