Rectal Gluten Challenge

Rate this topic

Recommended Posts

I did a forum search but not finding any recent posts - does anyone know if the rectal gluten challenge is available yet in the US?  It seems this would be the most logical test to be done (with minimal side effects - I'd gladly do it to get a conclusive dx without being miserable for months).  The fact that it's logical, however, leads me to believe it's probably not available yet

No it's not at this time. I don't thinkthe US uses the buccal swab either. I agree that it is a much more humane way to test for folks that are already gluten free as there is no need for a challenge.
