Hi,

Hope this message finds you in good Health ,

So , I have been diagnosed with celiac desease about 3 years ago . After 6 months going stricked gluten free  i started noticing hair thinning , and then after a year the thinning kept on and after 3 years it is still going down .. ok with a slower rate but i still lost like 3/4th of the hair . I have been to a lot of different doctors from dermatologists to tricologists and no one really was of help. I have a good supplementation of vitamins and minerals everyday and i eat all type of foods. Do you know where i can get help please ? Or do you know anyone that has gone through the same problem ? If yes please can you spare with me some information as it is quite an unpleasent situation especaially with me being a hairstylist.

Thankyou for your co operation , and for your time spent to help me .

I look forward to hearing from you :)

Kind regards ,

 Maria

I assume your thyroid is okay?  Autoimmune thyroiditis is commonly linked to celiac disease.  Same goes for alopecia (autoimmune hairless).   Is your celiac disease under control?  When was your last celiac antibodies testing or a vitamin/mineral panel?  What were the results?

The thyroid is ok . Celiac is undercontrol a lot but still blod tests are a bit over the range but fdoctors say it is ok. The last blood test was done in october 2019 ago and the result of  the Anti-Tissue TG Ab (IgA) Eurospital was 13 and the average is 0.1 - 9.0 IU/ml. The doctor said that it was good as i had improvement from the ones before. The thing is that when I was not diagnosed as celiac , I didnt had hair loss. I had a Vitamin D low , but I do take supplements everyday .

Duodenal ulcers are not uncommon either and often result from H.Pylori infections. https://www.healthdirect.gov.au/duodenal-ulcer

I had what was termed "lesions," and normally ulcers are in the stomach, rather than the small intestines. I'm not sure why they would want you to have her continue to eat gluten, since she had a positive blood test, but as her doctor said, if she is uncomfortable and having symptoms why not have her go gluten-free at this point? If her symptoms improve, it would be another indicator that she has celiac disease and/or gluten sensitivity. This article has some detailed information on how to be 100% gluten-free, so it may be helpful (be sure to also read the comments section.):

In the USA we also do a fruit cake that probably has UK origins, and my grandmother's always had lots of rum in it. I just found these:

Since the originator of the group no is no longer active here, I put you in charge...perhaps you can revive it?
