Not sure. How about their coffee?

Tim Horton`s

~ Turkey rice soup, Iced Cap, French Vanilla, English Toffee; Note their Mocha coffee is made from coffee and THEIR hot chocolate and the hot chocolate MAY contain gluten. Ask to see ingredients on can of hot chocolate.

I found that on the Calgary Celiac site...no idea how old the info is. Best to call the HQ, I suppose.

at the store they have a sign that says they do not guarantee anything, as they are a bakery and there is stuff flying around (in better words, of course). i got sick there a few times from the coffee and stopped going... having open coffee pots with all those baked goods is a gluten trap, to me.

I checked fairly recently and apparently both of their hot chocolates are now gluten free, as is their new hot fruit drinks. Can't remember what they are called now  Is that a sign of old age?

Naw, just good ole brain fog!

ok so i work at tim hortons part time and i get the chance to check the ingredients on things for my mom who has celiac disease. i have checked the hot chocolate and unfortunately it says "may contain wheat" I do not know why they would have wheat in their hot chocolate and it angers me a lot because my mom and other celiacs are missing out on a lot of things and now they can't even have chocolate and water without there being wheat in it?? well i can understand since it is like a bakery. But some good news is that the french vanilla and hot smoothies are gluten free. ( i do not know every little gluten free ingredient) but it did not say may contain wheat and it looks ok. If you need more information on anything you can reply to this or contact me other ways thanks

I just went to Tim Ho, asked about the ice caps, was assured that they where free of flour, had one and a coffee, and I am more ill than I have been for months. I am in serious discomfort right now, and will be for hours I suspect. I think the smart thing to do, is avoid Tim Horton's altogether. I am not allergic to any other foods except glutens so, it has to be that.

Is there a medication or anything I can take when I do accidentally ingest some of this stuff please does anyone know?

DougE Rookie

I heard that Tim's chili is gluten-free. Does anybody know?

Definitely worth speaking to your gastroenterologist about this. My own told me that by using Gaviscon a barrier forms over the contents of the stomach and stops gas and acid irritating the throat.  In fact, he said to me that because I found relief using Gaviscon that was a very clear indicator that reflux was the cause of that particular issue.   A wedge pillow will really help with this - or raising the top bed legs with bricks.

I did get the pneumonia vaccine about 4 years ago. I had this amazing allergist who did all those vitamin deficiencies test and told to get that vaccine. Unfortunately she retired.  I haven’t been to an allergist in a few years,  I’m not sure what my levels are now. I did have a pulmonologist who wasn’t concern and said I seemed fine to him that I was young etc. But yes I think I should at the very least get a different opinion. Thank you for your reply

Yes I do have acid reflux. I’m not on anything for it at the moment. I sometimes wonder if that’s what it could be because I get heart burn every night. I may revisit my gastrointestinal doctor again. Thanks for the reply

Hi @HelloFlowersGoodbyeFlour I wonder if you suffer from reflux, as if you do, you may find it could also be irritating your airways.  I shall explain: I have to use a blue inhaler from time to time, and it seems to be related to reflux.  Never had any trouble before my coeliac diagnosis, the reflux seemed to be something that developed following a holiday to France in 2019, where I had been exposed to gluten.    The reflux continued into the autumn and winter, my throat itched to begin with, particularly after meals, but it then that feeling of irritation seemed to spread to my lungs.  I even found it difficult to breathe on occasion. What stopped it in its tracks was using a wedge pillow at night, following a reflux diet (you can find them online), not eating 2-4 hours before bed and also having a dose of Gaviscon Advanced at night, which forms a barrier so that acid/food can't go back up your esophagus.  The throat irritation faded, and then I found it easier to breathe again. Just mentioning in case it could be a contributing factor.

Since initially getting your D checked a few years ago, has it since rebounded to normal levels? Sounds like at some point you got it checked again.
