I'm confused--I've seen this Blooms with a gluten-free menu, info below:

Blooms Deli Café

350 Lexington Avenue

(corner of 40th Street)

New York, New York 10016

212-922-FOOD (3663)

www.bloomsnewyorkdeli.com

HOWEVER, this website above doesn't work. Is this deli still around? Or is it the same as this deli? Open Original Shared Link ? It has a different address...is there more than one? I would love having the 350 Lexington one if its still there. Thanks for the clarification!!

(I'm trying to map out good places to eat).

Hey Jen,

It's still here!! I haven't been there yet but I plan to. I just called them and they plan on re-opening this Saturday. (They had a fire and were renovating). Hopefully you'll still be here then!

Oh and that isn't the same deli (the website you found). That is a kosher deli in Westchester County.

I ate there a few years ago. My food was yummie and my Father enjoyed his gluten meal, too.

Jen- dont know if you will be checking this site while you are in NY but what kind of late night places are you looking for? Dont know where u are staying but if you are looking for a safe place to have a drink, u should definitely check out Russian Samovar on 52nd/broadway- they have excellent fruit infused vodka and everything is gluten-free and great- no risk of cross contam or anything- but beware, one drink and u WILL be tipsy :) as for "mom-friendly" stuff- are u going to any plays? it is also ABT season at the met if you want to look into ballet tickets- i realize these suggestions are all over the map but i dont know what you are looking for! And try to make it to risotteria on a wknd- one of the waiters makes special desserts on the weekends - he is trying things out for a future bakery he will be opening- SOOO yum! (had the key lime pie- TO DIE FOR). Anyway, enjoy NYC and let me know if i can help ya out a bit more :)

LOL.. I was drinking with Mikhail Baryshnikov had Russian Samovar one night a couple years ago. He is one of the owners and happened to be there that night. I was there with a whole bunch of people from work doing a vodka tasting for a Russian themed party we were having and he joined out table. That is definately the strongest vodka ever!!!

Definitely worth speaking to your gastroenterologist about this. My own told me that by using Gaviscon a barrier forms over the contents of the stomach and stops gas and acid irritating the throat.  In fact, he said to me that because I found relief using Gaviscon that was a very clear indicator that reflux was the cause of that particular issue.   A wedge pillow will really help with this - or raising the top bed legs with bricks.

I did get the pneumonia vaccine about 4 years ago. I had this amazing allergist who did all those vitamin deficiencies test and told to get that vaccine. Unfortunately she retired.  I haven’t been to an allergist in a few years,  I’m not sure what my levels are now. I did have a pulmonologist who wasn’t concern and said I seemed fine to him that I was young etc. But yes I think I should at the very least get a different opinion. Thank you for your reply

Yes I do have acid reflux. I’m not on anything for it at the moment. I sometimes wonder if that’s what it could be because I get heart burn every night. I may revisit my gastrointestinal doctor again. Thanks for the reply

Hi @HelloFlowersGoodbyeFlour I wonder if you suffer from reflux, as if you do, you may find it could also be irritating your airways.  I shall explain: I have to use a blue inhaler from time to time, and it seems to be related to reflux.  Never had any trouble before my coeliac diagnosis, the reflux seemed to be something that developed following a holiday to France in 2019, where I had been exposed to gluten.    The reflux continued into the autumn and winter, my throat itched to begin with, particularly after meals, but it then that feeling of irritation seemed to spread to my lungs.  I even found it difficult to breathe on occasion. What stopped it in its tracks was using a wedge pillow at night, following a reflux diet (you can find them online), not eating 2-4 hours before bed and also having a dose of Gaviscon Advanced at night, which forms a barrier so that acid/food can't go back up your esophagus.  The throat irritation faded, and then I found it easier to breathe again. Just mentioning in case it could be a contributing factor.

Since initially getting your D checked a few years ago, has it since rebounded to normal levels? Sounds like at some point you got it checked again.
