Crohn's Disease Question

Recommended Posts

Does anyone out there know if Crohn's patients have problems with the Casein or the Lactose? My SIL has Crohns and I'm trying to figure out if she can have products with "casien" as an ingredient. I know dairy in general is a problem with Crohn's. Just trying to figure out whether it's the protein or the sugar.

Yes, I am, in fact, replying to my own post.

After looking into this, I'm seeing that there is no clear-cut answer to this. In fact, that there are theories that crohns may be due to lactose, casein, or some bacterias, etc.

So, to answer my question, no, it appears that she cannot eat products with casein. :D
