Hello everyone

My little son is gluten-free.

Can anyone recommend grocery stores who have a lot of gluten-free products, and or some restaurants? We are travelling to Orinda, California, which is apparently close to San Francisco, or Walnut Creek.

Thanks!

Barb :)

I'm not sure where you're coming from or how long you're going to be in this area, but if you can I would suggest making a day trip to Sacramento. You could check out Old Town Sac which has a lot of great shops, and then hit the Gluten Free Specialty, an all gluten-free market at 2612 J Street. They have about 1,500-2,000 gluten-free products, and some are also egg, dairy, and/or corn free.

As for restaurants, here's some links to gluten-free places in the bay area:

I would highly recommended Amici's Pizzeria, if you've been craving gluten-free pizza.

Try Berkeley Bowl and Whole Foods. I think there is an actual location for Mariposa Bakery in Oakland.
