Dining Out Tip

We live very close to a Hooters restaurant and my husband, at 72, still enjoys a weekly dose of beer, butts, and boobs, so we often go there for lunch. Now that I am gluten free, I have been ordering their half pound of steamed shrimp to peel and eat, along with an unsweetened iced tea. All has gone well until a couple of weeks ago when I got glutened from CC. They had served the shrimp on a plastic sort or tray/plate. Well, today, I asked the waitress if they had a glass/china plates and explained that I needed to be very careful about getting glutened. She suggested that they could put my shrimp on one of their takeout foam boxes instead. Brilliant! Plucked the shrimp from one side and put their shells in the other. And no contamination! These days, lots of restaurants have these boxes on hand for takeout or leftovers. So, I will be requesting them for my dining out again.

I thought this was funny. I read it to my 15 yr old son. He perked up and said," Can you eat at Hooters?". :P
