]Help! Magnesium level was low so doc put me on a supplement, but I'm also on Levoxyl for low thyroid. Should I take this supplement 4 hours after my thyroid med?

YES!! I take my thyroid supplements (Levoxyl and Liothyronine) when I first wake up in the morning. 3-1/2 to 4 hours later after breakfast I take my magnesium supplement. If I take the magnesium less than 3-1/2 hours after my thyroid supps, I notice more hypothyroid symptoms (I get tired sooner, feel colder, get irregular). So I know magnesium can interfere with thyroid absorption.

If you only need to take magnesium supplement once a day, you might take it before bed and take your thyroid in the morning. I need to take my magnesium a few times a day so that I don't get a big load of magnesium, which can cause me bloating. gas and cramping pain.

Actually, calcium needs to be taken away from thyroid supplements also. I do not start ingesting any supplements at all for at least 5 hours after my thyroid hormone.

I am also on thyroid medication and just recently started to take magnesium. I probably took the magnesium 2-3 hours after the thyroid meds but only took the magnesium for 2 days because ive become very depressed. Could this be due to the magnesium?

Hi Scott, yes I have had symptoms for years and this is the second GI I have seen and he could not believe I have never been tested. He called later today and I am scheduled for an endoscopy. Is there a way to tell how severe my potential celiac is from the results above? What are the chances I will have the biopsy and come back negative and we have to keep searching for a cause?

I agree christina, there is definitely many contributing factors! I have the pain today, my pelvis, hips and thighs ache! No idea why. But i have been sitting at work for 3 days so im thinking its my back. This disease is very mysterious (and frustrating) but not always to blame for every pain.

"her stool study showed she had extreme reactions to everything achievement on it long course of microbials to treat that." The wording of this part of the sentence does not make any sense at all. I don't mean to insult you, but is English your first language? This part of the sentence sounds like it was generated by translation software.

What kind of stool test was done? Can you be more specific?

Perhaps I should also have said that in addition to showing a very high response to gluten, her stool study showed that she had extreme reactions to everything achievement on it long course of microbials to treat that.
