Severe Burning Pain?

Rate this topic

Recommended Posts

Hi

I was diagnosed with Celiac Disease 6 years ago and have since been on a gluten-free, mostly dairy free diet. For the last 12 years I have had severe burning pain in my hip, butt, leg and foot which comes and goes. Within the last year I am also getting the same burning pain in my lower and now upper back. This pain has been getting progressively worse. I have seen numerous doctors, physios, chiros, a muscular skeletal specialist, a gynochologist and an acupuncturist and noone can tell me what's causing this. I am at my wits end with this pain.. Have any fellow celiacs experienced similar pain or know if it might be related to celiac?

TIA

Kind of sounds like you might have a pinched or inflamed nerve, possibly in your back. Our nerves radiate weird pain. I have had all kinds of nerve pain issues and it is like trying to trace a map to try and find the source but a doc who knows this stuff can be quite helpful. I would definately ask a doc his opinion on this being nerve pain, and I would if he thought this could be coming from your back. Once you get some relief.....I have had steroid injections, physical therapy, massages, injectable pain relief which all work great but the nerve has to be relieved to get better and make it go away.

Thanks for that.. I have had an MRI, ultrasound and X-rays on my back and hip and there's no sign of a pinched nerve, bulging discs, or anything abnormal. I also had a steroid shot in my hip 5 years ago which helped for a while, but since it has worn off the pain has come back even worse. Any more advice would be greatly appreciated..

I readily agree. Some type of nerve, inflammatory issue. I have spinal stenosis, peri-formis syndrome, sacroilitis and bursitis. I take steroids, get injections, take anti-inflammitories and muscle relaxers. I see a rheumatologist for my issues. Might be a good place to start. Be well.
