So I am not diagnosed with celiac disease yet, but I'm doing my own gluten free diet to see if that helps some of the symptoms that I have been experiencing the last few weeks. I have been gluten free for a few days now but I am still pretty constipated and have slight pain during bowel movements. It's like there's a knot in my stomach. Just wondering if anyone has the same issue.

And also, I'm 23 years old right now. I have always had stomach issues. Would it be safe to say that celiac disease could show up at any time in life without you realizing that you actually had a problem?

Thanks so much for your time. :)

I quit gluten about a month ago. One generally continues having symptoms for a long time. Have you heard of gluten withdrawl? I felt somewhat better for a week. Then I was dizzy and light headed most of the time. Sometimes I feel good. My MD says it will be 6 months before symptoms should slack off. It takes a long time to get over long standing illness. If you do have a gluten problem, you can have hope that you are doing all you can. One day you should realize your hard work. I have found that I need extra water as I recover.

Health to you,

Diana

Thanks a lot! This actually makes me feel a little better. And I also get the dizzy and light headed feeling off and on. I was getting concerned because of the constant sounds and movement of gas and what not in my stomach. I guess I will try and kick up my water intake as well.
