  1. Sounds like a good plan....let us know how it goes
  2. Anytime...glad you are feeling better
  3. Wow...that is a lot of information....none of which is needed to answer a question that may not have a single answer. Gluten makes Dania feel calm. Welcome Dania! I am one that encourages initial testing for celiac disease before complete gluten removal as that data can never be replicated. Hang in there
  4. We get whole pineapple and use one of those nifty corer/slicers...mostly because I like large amount of fresh juice this method makes....which we use for marinade or rum drinks
  5. Let's see...yesterday was a crappy day, but today is looking up! We had Tri-Tip steak strips on the 4th. Last night we had Ribeyes - yum!!! Just threw a whole chicken in KFG (aka the Crock Pot) with some herbs. It is beautiful here which means I need to hide under the numerous umbrellas scattered about....but thankful that I am not in as much...
  6. Every time I see the bacon dancing dude it makes me crave bacon.... Bacon must have endorphins in it...makes everyone so happy
  7. Pretty darn good...I think ours was 9.99...May have been on special...will look next time I'm there...may even let it come home with me
  8. I saw it at Von's in San Diego...told the teens...loved their quizzical looks as too why I didn't bring one home. Looked too yummy so didn't feel like having it stare at me from my cart or freezer. Will update when they try it.
  9. Love it! A friend of ours had a great one...hubs uses all the time now. Bacon, the duct tape of the kitchen ... There ain't nothing it can't fix
  10. Savella    Proceed with caution! That is the wonder drug that the Fibromyalgia Expert at UCSD trialed on me when I was dx'd Fibro 7 months after Celiac Diagnosis. Was to titrate up in thirds.... did not make it past the first third Of course no meds have ever worked properly in this f$#%ed up system o...
  11. nope..it is the one I removed cuz the link had my realworld FB name in it will find and post later
  12. Freaking thieves So I was puking for a day and a half...could have been too much wine, too much coffee or simply a little bug that has thankfully flown away Sunday night changed...sent the youngest to get a tri-tip as the men all needed beef! Last night Hubs was back in the kitchen - hip hip hooray - made simple grilled pork chops, rice and...
  13. Yep, what Irish said. Hang in there...the first six months are the hardest...between learning curves and wonky digestive systems and the wonderful encounters with family and friends that "know" all about this gluten-free thing Hang tough...it gets much better
  14. That is a great idea
  15. Butter and salt is good too
  16. It is a wonderful gluten free grain alternative packed with protein which I hope to get back one day : )
  17. I can't eat Quinoa anymore...but did use it when dx'd for breakfast and lunches. I'd make large batch and then put in ziplocks to use for each meal. Breakfast - cinnamon and apples, ginger and peaches, sage with egg or spinach Lunch -- any veggies or cubed meat added in.
  18. Corona may have less gluten...but still has gluten...nothing scientific, but I was not diagnosed until age 43 by which time I had had a few beers in my life. I never liked any beer -- made me bloat like crazy -- interestingly when camping in baja during my late teens and twenties...we only drank real Corona...the stuff you bought next to the water stores...
  19. IMO twelve weeks is better for all tests..but the University of Chicago and other leading celiac facilities have sited peer reviewed studies that took samples after a two week challenge that did show damage to the villi. Here is the problem as I see it...in those studies there were likely the best celiac disease docs performing the biopsies...we see far...
  20. Too pooped to pop today....giving youngest the link to make this: Removed link....doh...privacy blunder
  21. I am arguably one of the worst of diagnosed celiacs with regard to other food intolerance and I drink Red Wine exclusively as my adult beverage -- wine does not have gluten. It does cause folks issues for other reasons on occasion.
  22. I agree with Laura for the most part. I'd suggest one slice of glutenous bread per day for two weeks prior to your endoscopy...so schedule it as soon as possible and then enjoy a really good slice of bread each day or half a grilled cheese until the endoscopy. I did not read your other thread, but if any of the celiac antibody tests were positive...
  23. Interestingly it does get the hood talking...and I make the son's current band go door to door at least six weeks in advance to ask permission for the date they want...that and all amplified music ends at 7pm...all acoustic hours actually bring some folks out of there homes to listen
  24. My backyard project has slowed with heat and taking care of Hubs -- his nasty viral infection has turned to cough to pneumonia -- I am ready for my strong honey back...Friday is our 27th Anniversary on the 27th and the first Anniversary in about five years I am vertical! Will take let you all now when I finish with the animal project or at least make...
  25. Lol...I've been known to throw 4 or 5 huge turkeys in my cart whilst I decide which ones are going home. First come.....
