  1. Love it....you look Marvelous Good to see ya back Bartie!
  2. I'd say you both are at minimal acceptable. Do you have previous tests to compare if either of your levels have risen? As example...mine was 17 at celiac diagnosis....rose to 28 with supplementation first year gluten-free...has continued to rise without supplementation each subsequent year since.
  3. Yep...the old "you look healthy" comment makes my skin itch...trust me...I'd rather look sick and be healthy than rise from the crap I've been through and be told...at least you look good...ugh Corporate complaint is in order...my advice is always inform corporations of these and other similar issues...how else would mgmt ever know this idiot is spouting...
  4. Congratulations Laura...I do believe advancement is on the horizon if you are showing up with no pants on
  5. This is similar to mine: Open Original Shared Link Would suggest the metal version, but plastic does work.
  6. That is good news....will cross what I got that you have a wonderful Birthday Meal, perhaps take digestive enzymes beforehand Happy Birthday to you!!!!
  7. Christmas in July? Yay! with the heat and air quality in paradise I've been toast by dinner time lately...had encore cheese burger for me last night with yam chunks and broccoli. Men had polska with mac and cheese -- theirs looked good! today i'm rolling enchiladas early for my house along with a pans for Mom/Sis's apt and Dad...cooling here so...
  8. Yes, the damage caused with active celiac causes the small intestine to become permeable. That is why folks that heal and go on to live happy healthy lives upon removing gluten likely had primary celiac as the cause of their "Leaky Gut". For the folks like me that have minimal improvement or get worse after the strict removal of gluten...I believe...
  9. Excellent
  10. Lol...just had a visual of us all stomping little alien monsters!
  11. Sounds like a plan. Would also recommend digestive enzymes...they really are quite benign, but do help aid digestion....especially in the early days of healing. Oh....when are you taking the probiotic...could it be causing the distress after the morning meal?
  12. I know three months seems like you have been gluten-free for a long time...reality is the damage can simply take time to heal. Tell me more about this abdominal pain 1-2 hours after the morning meal, but not after other meals. Is it every day regardless of what is eaten in the morning? Are you taking digestive enzymes and good quality probiotic? ...
  13. Thanks Peg! I read up on them...the are fine to eat though ideally snipping before flower bloom is preferable. I'm sticking with containers for herbs and some small veggies this summer...I have been adding succulents and red apple around the perimeter of where the lawn was...leaving the center ready and waiting for raised beds and more growing later,...
  14. Ditto what Colleen said....the shallow end of the pool is all you need...the water is simply more forgiving on our painful joints and muscles...the hardest part is often getting in or out...but always worth the effort. You don't need a class...but if your local pool has one it would be worth it to help get you moving and more confident in the water
  15. It is kind of a 'chicken or egg' type question ... in my opinion. When I was initially diagnosed I firmly believed that the damage caused by celiac disease is what caused my other food intolerances and lingering autoimmune symptoms. Five years later I have read quite a bit, spoken with several experts and now think I may have had another functional digestive...
  16. Do you have access to a swimming pool or is there a public pool with water exercise classes? If pool exercise is not an option...then walk....doesn't matter if you start with just walking out your front door. Walk every day and eventually you'll be walking much farther than your front yard...I find music helps!
  17. Hi there! Trailing foods during the early months gluten-free is tough and honestly the results aren't very accurate because a healing digestive system can be upset by any food. If you would like to try what works for many that have leaky gut or autoimmune symptoms that continue once gluten is successfully removed, I suggest reading up on foods that...
  18. Ps... I also strongly encourage folks to eat only whole foods, nothing processed....even the certified gluten-free foods can be tough on the healing system and should be used as occasional treats rather than staples.
  19. Welcome Cavegirl! An elimination diet is a wonderful idea, but I would encourage complete elimination of gluten for a period of at least three to six months before tackling a full elimination diet. Early days in healing can simply be wonky. Any food can be irritating during this time and we often are chasing our tails trying to figure out what causes...
  20. Gotcha. If you haven't...request a copy of both the procedural and pathology reports....we can help interpret. Biopsy inconclusive sounds like perhaps the doctor took only one sample of the small intestine, which would mean he is not up to date on proper endoscopic biopsy protocol for celiac disease...unfortunately this is a common occurrence. Oh...
  21. Welcome Jessica! I was diagnosed with the set of symptoms known as fibromyalgia seven months after finally being diagnosed with celiac disease. You can read my basic history if you click on my profile. I have never tolerated medications and was unable to take pain and or SSRIs (they tried savella) to help manage my pain, fatigue and brain fog. ...
  22. Welcome to the club! Your tests are indeed all positive for Celiac Disease. With those numbers you should get a fast forward for an appt with a GI that specializes in Celiac Disease or minimally has experience in this area. You should meet with the GI to discuss your results and decide if the endoscopy is your next step. The reason to get in quickly...
  23. Lol...wonder if you'd end up with a blue child if he ran thru the sprinklers on a summer day?
  24. Oh yes!!! Sign me up...I need more s$#& for hubs to make fun of. Not joking...I love to watch him when he thinks something is ridiculous ... Been thirty one years and he still doesn't know sometimes I do it just to watch him try not to be grumpy...mean? Probably
