  2. anything green? just teasing...always after someone in my house to try something green with his carbs
  3. Yay. Well as always further detail is warranted. Had minor asthma (turns out was not) for several decades. Son had breathing issues and cronic "smoker" type cough from age 7. Was his main symptom as child. Gone at age 20, 5 years gluten-free.
  4. Yum! Doh...Mother Hen kicked in...what are you placing on these wonderful pieces of bread?
  5. Absolutely! I have one freezer door shelf filled with baked or BBQ'd chicken in all forms. And I have thrown frozen diced chicken on a rough salad (by rough I mean chopped veggies over a bit of lettice). Make sure to bring dressing separate. I like tiny bottles that I freeze so it adds a bit of chill factor to salads.
  6. Congratulations on the new job! What do you do? And absolutely throw cooked diced chicken in the freeze. Helps throw great lunches together.
  7. Safe travels Irish! Crossing what I got for your gastronomic adventures

  16. Glad you had a good appointment...those really can help to lift spirits. My safest foods are chicken and all green veggies except peppers. I currently eat all meats, only fresh caught fish (hubs likes to fish - worked out well when we learned the hista nonsense), most veggies except those with high histamine or nightshades, a small amount of rice or...
  17. Great. Always ask for written or electronic copies of testing. It can help you now....and trust me, it will help in your future health needs.
  18. Try not to fear food. I know it's tough when you feel crappy and can't pinpoint what is causing it. If you aren't sure with the removal of histamines ...give it a bit longer. If you aren't improving at all then it may be some other food group or environmental factor or stress..etc. Do something just for you every day...even if it is for a short time...
  19. Welcome! Those tests are quite clear. The DGPs are extremely high and the endomysial titer indicates damage to the endomysial layer of the small intestine ... in simple terms - damage caused in Celiac Disease. I am curious, did your doctor run: Tissue Transglutaminase...also known as tTG (both IgA and IgG)? Do read the Newbie Thread CyclingLady...
  20. Well...it helps when I read the entire thread. I live in San Diego and know UCSD very well. You want to see Dr. Sheila Crowe, the director of UCSDs celiac center. Ask to speak with her assistant or advice nurse. The normal receptionist does not understand the need to fast forward possible DH biopsy. If you run into the usual "next appt is in three...
  21. Welcome QB! Great to see you Squirmy...carry on
  22. How do you know you don't have celiac disease? A reaction like that certainly sounds familiar to this full blown celiac....and her children that were difficult to diagnose celiacs.
  23. Unfortunately, many of us become much more sensitive to minute amounts of gluten as our time gluten-free increases. The response becomes much worse. Take a look and see where cc could be happening in your life. My home is completely gluten-free now because my reactions to cross contamination became quite severe so we evolved from shared kitchen to...
