  1. Irish just traveled through twice...heading north and south...will light up the bat signal
  2. So yesterday ended up being fried chicken with smashed sweet potatoes/potatoes and asparagus. Had plugged in KFG and grated mozzarella just to find out we were out of pasta sauce...I make huge pots of it in the crock and then can/jar and store them. Boys use all the time for bagel pizzas and pasta for lunch...they are supposed to tell me when they grab...
  3. Yum, yum, yum, yum and I want to pet an angora bunny! Yay for safe travels!
  4. New word for the day....jankified And just decided dinner will be KFG zucchini lasagna Thanks!
  5. Well...I say cry, then adjust At least that's what I did ... Big girl pants intact.
  6. I do agree with Karen that biopsies are a good idea since you have active DH lesions. You seem to not be in need of diagnosis....so as long as your primaries and ER are on board..great. Unfortunately, your situation is not the norm...we normally see folks that are fighting to be understood by their primaries and ER physicians
  7. They should have a complete celiac antibody panel every three years. Symptoms are numerous and at times vague. First degree relatives should always be tested every three years..more often if symptoms present.
  8. My celiac doc tested me when initial celiac panels for my then 13 and 15 year olds came up neg with numberous symptoms. I'm double plus one. Couple years later the older one had genetic test when he was unsure of status....he too is double plus one...which means my non celiac husband carries at least one pesky DQ2....possibly a DQ8. Sorry..original poster...
  9. The test for SIBO is not very accurate...forget the percentages...you can google them. With or without SIBO, probiotics are a very good idea for the healing digestive system -- as long as you can tolerate them. Digestive enzymes can also help during healing.
  10. Unfortunately not all gastroenterologists are well educated with regard to celiac disease. We should not have to convince our doctors...sadly it happens far too often. Just a suggestion, but I would check if there are any celiac savvy GIs near you.
  11. Sounds familiar. When you mention removing foods...have you done as strict elimination? If not, I would try removing all high histamines first for at least a week, a month is better. If that doesn't work...then remove high lectins (this is the most restrictive).
  12. Really...I never tried that. I have doc notes in all of our wallets....never needed to pull them out
  13. Don't try...this is important. Write down your symptoms in a list. Write down the tests you want ordered. If you do take control of your meetings with doctors, you will see the benefit. Hang tough Sweets!
  14. Ok. So you are now 40. Would you say your 'flu' type symptoms have escalated over the past decade?
  15. I take food everywhere. Usually the folks checking don't understand Celiac Disease so I do say I have severe allergies and can not eat out safely. Only one time did my meal get tossed...and that was when my hubs was carrying my bag for me....now I let him carry until we are at the check point That being said...many chips and candy are gluten-free
  16. I use ice and soaks in epsom salt. What part of the back? upper/neck, Mid Back, Low Back?
  17. Have you had an endoscopy? Were any other Rheumy tests positive -- CRP, ESR, ANA, etc? Have you had nutrients tested? Have you had allergy testing both blood and skin prick? Do you have any reactions to environment like heat? cold? exercise? chemicals? perfumes? or exhaust, etc?
  18. Welcome! Celiac Disease is most certainly a possibility. Do not remove gluten. Go to your primary doctor with a list of symptoms written down (similar to what you have written here) and the list of proper tests for celiac disease. Total Serum IgA tTG-IgA tTG-IgG EMA-IgA DGP-IgA DGP-IgG Additionally, since you already have history of low...
  19. Positive is positive. One need not have extremely high numbers on any of the celiac antibody tests to have celiac disease. There are a few reasons other than Celiac Disease that raise the tTG, but with digestive issues and positive antibody test it certainly sounds like celiac. Did this doctor run a complete celiac antibody panel or just the tTG? ...
  20. Meatloaf is the easiest option. Want an easy recipe?....hope hubs is feeling better soon So my sinful bacon wrapped sweet potatoes got postponed as I wasn't able to cook last night...son made simple BBQ pork chops, rice and carrot curls. Tonight we are having tri tip with the bacon wrapped sweet potato fries...making them up this morning so the...
  21. We make porcupine balls in the pressure cooker...took a while to find tomato soup that worked as well as Campbell's for the sauce.
  22. Yep...this is what I was going to type...but k beat me to it. We use ground beef, chicken and turkey interchangeable. Have found chicken and turkey make moister meatloaf. Sometimes I let them all play together.
  23. Right! Unfortunately, it is important to keep the gluten flowing. I remember telling my celiac doc I would have no problem removing gluten as soon as he finished testing....apparently he watched many people he diagnosed return to eating gluten. My whole family as ready and willing to find health from our food.
  24. Frustrating, I know. Really glad things are moving forward for you....post your lab results if you are unsure of them. If you post in this thread, I will see them and try to help or post in a separate thread and I'm sure many others will help. Until your endoscopy on the 8th make sure to ingest at least a slice of glutenous bread per day...some have...
  25. I started using one when we had a tiny kitchen at a mountain cabin for one ski season...amazing how much can be done in it!
